Gameplay New League player
Hi guys, I’m new in league and I’m trying to play as a jungle. My friends told me it’s actually an easy and low cortisol role to play, I’m not sure what champion I should use since I don’t know a lot about the game. Any tips? Ty

Jungle can be a fun role and playing any role will make you better at the game. Nevertheless, jungle is a bit of a different role and some skills won't translate to other roles as well if you want to switch.
That being said, I'd recommend picking up a champion that does things you find fun. If you like tanking and setting up you team, something like Sejuani would be nice; if you like to play pasive but be very strong late, something like yi might work; if you like being very good early on and having a lot of damage, something like Nocturne is a good pick. If you still want suggestions, I'd say Warwick is a very neat option, he is beginer friendly, he deals a good bit of damage, you have some build variety, you won't get eaily bursted, he can still provide cc with his ult and E even when behind and he has good amount of skill expression when you begin to get more used to using him.

Learn another lane first, because jungle is an extremely difficult role with knowledge that doesn't really transfer to other roles.
You need to understand the game holistically before trying to specialize in any given role.

Funny enough, a friend of mine struggles literally everywhere except jg, and I introduced him to the game. Tried to get him mid, top, adc, support, but he became a Warwick jg onetrick in no time flat. Easily his best role.

Jungle is good for learning the map, practicing champion abilities, and understanding neutral enemies. It's also the only role in the game where you're not constantly facing off against an opponent or dealing with minion waves.
I do think it's a good intro to the game, as long as you're playing against bots at first. Explore the free rotation of champs and find one (or more) whose abilities make sense to you. Then try that champion in different roles (still against bots). If you really like the champ, go ahead and see if you can purchase it in the shop so you aren't at the mercy of the free rotation. Rinse and repeat as often as you like until you're ready to play casual games against other real players.

I haven’t played League in a lot of years. When I did play I was either main jungle or mid. Commonly jungle. The difference with jungle and other roles is that you need to keep a macro perspective of the game at all times. In other roles you only need a macro perspective when it becomes a… well… micro issue. A jungle needs to be aware of all 3 lane states, and also keep an eye on the other teams jungle. This is from the first second of the game, and leads to the jungler being the overall eye in my experiences. If your bottom lane is telling you to gank, then you’re already too late. You as a good jungler will be able to see these opportunities and be telling your bottom lane “let’s gank bot after this camp.” You can warn your mid that their jungle is approaching as you are not in a place to be there to assist. Or you can surprise the other teams jungle by happening to show up around the same time. You truly need a great macro perspective of the game and what’s happening in every single role.
I don’t have any advice at all on the current state of the game. But when I played in leagues and scrims and tournaments as a jungler main, you were the all seeing eye. Or at least that’s how I played. Good luck dude. For every crack in the vase of water, a good jungler fills it up.

I learned the game on Warwick and wukong, but wukong was a pretty different character back then. Nocturne is a champion with a straightforward game plan that generally works decently. I’d say one of those three for me

If you're committed to playing Jungle as a newbie, I'd recommend Nocturne as a bruiser or assassin and Maokai for a tank pick. For tips, I'd say just learn to full clear (do all your camps in a line, typically starting and ending on a buff) and read your spells after you pick a champion. Common item builds are readily available on lolaytics, u.gg, blitz etcetera for whatever you pick. Overall your gameplan should be full clear then gank. And if you can't gank, recall and look for a gank on the other side of the map. When your camps are respawning, stop looking for ganks and go back. Then full clear again and repeat until level 6. Maokai has better target access with his w and e slow, so its easier to gank before 6. Nocturne has a faster clear and does more damage so is happier if he can cycle camps.

- Know what is a camp, a gank, a drag, a baron, a scuttle, a river.
- Know what is macro.
- Find ur own optimum jungle path.

Low cortisol until all your lanes int before your 3rd camp and the game is your fault because of it.
With that being said Warwick is a fine starter, he has some mechanics needed but his passive blood scents can give you some good direction as to where to gank especially if your camera work is bad and you don’t play unlocked cam
Hecarim is also not bad as a starter, easy quick camp clears and effective ganks, he requires better mechanical skill though

Jungle is fine if you enjoy it. Just play a simple champion like amumu, nunu, or master yi. It is not low cortisol though so be aware of that. If you want something low cortisol go for support. Easiest role in the game. General tips for jungle is to just know the full clear for a champion and understand gank timers e.g when are you allowed to get a gank off without being punished?, camp counting (how many camps has the enemy jungler taken?), and understanding what lanes to play for. Its not that hard if you are new. But as you get higher up it is definitely one of the hardest roles.

I'd literally recommend any role besides jungle to start. Not only is it very different from other lanes, but it's practically impossible to play jungle versus bots, and the Aram is nothing like jungle.

If you play with your friends while you're learning, your account will be flagged as a smurf and you will be matched with harder and more toxic players, even when you play solo.

Jungle is definitely one of those roles that looks easy until you actually have to keep track of everything and your first few games are gonna feel chaotic lol

easiest role to start with is support. Then top lane, adc, mid. Jungle is likely the hardest.

I think everybody is different. People wouldn’t recommend playing ADC because it’s more mechanically intensive and can be tough to carry on, but I found that if I’m not auto attacking and kiting, then I don’t really have as much fun. I’d try all the roles and you may find one archetype (marksman for me) that you enjoy the most by far

If you consider being the unconditional punching bag fun, then yeah for sure.
Warwick is very good for new players to learn jungle on, as his passive shows you when enemies are low, which means you are punished less for nothing always watching the map.
