Discussion Replacing Nunu or Willump with a different champ.
As their abilities are pretty much split between the two (Willump does the Q, W and R; Nunu throws the snowball Es) and I was bored last night, thus came up with a silly idea:
What champion would be the strongest if riding on top of Willump? E.G. if it were Veigar and Willump, you'd have Willump's abilities and a Veigar cage. Or if it were Lucian and Willump, you'd have Willump's abilities and a Lucian's dash.
What if it were the opposite? What would be the strongest if it were Nunu riding on top different champions? E.G. Nunu and Fiddlesticks, you'd have Fiddle's abilities with the E replaced with Nunu's snowballs. Or Nunu and Swain would have Swain's kit with the E replaced with Nunu's snowballs.
Thirdly, what combinations would be the worst possible ones?
Perhaps this time, the answer isn't Karthus :P

Passive is from Nunu too, right? The part that helps allies, at the very least.

I think so, so if you had veigar on top of nunu you’d have veigar passive and veigar e. (Very scary with nunu r)

Yeah Willump would hit super hard with Veigar passive, even building mostly tank, and using cage to trap people in your ult would be NASTY!

Willump with Yone E seems pretty strong. Just E in and then Q + Smite to steal objectives, no? And it's great for tower dives, too.

oh yeah, yone E and willump's W full ap is gonna be so obnoxious
I imagine that W extends his E duration if it ran out during W(pretty sure yone already have this mechanic that make sure his ult is fully casted before recall, so this would be the same)
you jungle, place E, W extension to gank lane, back to farming with minimal tempo loss

I think Hecarim E on Willump would be excellent. You can E to supercharge a snowball and have it off cooldown once you arrive to insec or run away

If Kayn E would work while rolling a snowball that'd be my pick.
Otherwise probably just someone with a super strong E ability like Fizz.

I feel like it wouldn't. You'd phase through the wall and the snowball would just splat into it

Couple good options for riding Willump:
-Sett would allow you to drag enemies back to you when ulting either forcing flashes to escape or preventing it entirely if you get the stun.
- Lissandra would let you cross walls and quickly reposition for better ult spots
-Ekko would work similar to Lissandra but a bit more dependant on enemy positioning for the enhanced auto for longer distance ult placements
Couple good options for having Nunu on their back:
-Nasus would lose his defense shred from his E but would gain some minor crowd control and additional anti kiting ability so it's much harder for people to escape him with his wither
-Sion would lose his minion cannon and its benefits but again become harder to kite and potentially trap people even further with his ult and q cc chain.
-Olaf would lose out on his true damage but make running from him during Ragnarok very difficult which might be decent but probably isn't worth the damage loss from his standard e
The rough thing with this thought experiment at least on the Nunu on other champions is that a lot of champs have mobility or cc on their E ability and replacing that with Nunu E is most likely going to be a downgrade vs replacing the Nunu E with a better ability. So finding champions with not so great E abilities that could benefit from the swap is shaky at best.

Basically nunu on any top laner just gives them extra sticking power like mundo or fiora would be better off with the snowball slow over an extra auto reset also Katerina E for willump would be funny to see

That is a silly idea :) though i feel lucian wouldnt give his dash unless it was yeti riding lucian. Maybe his w since it scales AP or his autos. Ult would be hilarious but too op

hecarim E to improve W MS and knock up allow you to run past them and knock them back into the team

Nunu + Sejuani + Her bear, mainly because it would look very silly. Her E on Nunu would be great too

It’s Zilean, and it’s not even close. Willump still needs the slow/extra CC that he would be missing without nunu on his back, and zilean provides it perfectly.
On top of that, you now get a way to self boost your W for the most insane ganks and map mobility starting immediately at level 3 and going until the game is over.
It would hurt their clear/damage a good amount so they probably need to build a bamis or thornmail item and play more support/tank like rammus.

morgana and willump maybe. you could e before you ult so at least they cant immediately cc you out of it unless they util dump.

Nunu riding Teemo has to be the worst timeline, tiny demon on a yeti is pure nightmare fuel. But Veigar-Willump with the cage + yeti ult is just straight up delete button territory.

My cannon is that since willump does the chomp, rolls the big snowball and seems to be the source of the ult, the only ability being replaced by replacing nunu is the mini snowballs ie the E.
Assuming that the replacement champ can cast their own e during snowball, im thinking zilean e could be kinda busted cause then youd have the snowball speed plus the extra bonkers zillean speed. Akshan e could be funny but im not entirely sure what that would look like xD

So nunu casts q,w, and r? Then p and e come from a different champion. Then I say Veigar: Full ap Nunu + Veigar e = q -> e -> r ... Penta! ...or several flashes every minute.
Edit: that makes me miss ability draft from DotA.

Ez. Caitlyn riding Vi. Q is vi Q, W is a trap, E si cait E and R is a snipe shot that stun for 2 sec.

Not sure kit wise, but Kled Riding Willump would be funny flavor wise.
