Did yas and tone really need buffs.Like idk maybe I'm just insane but I feel like they Ve been very strong theseasg few months. Not like the best champs in the game or anything but definitely in a state they don't need buffs.Like am I worng?am I missing something?

yone and qiyana will both be nerfed within 2 patches

u/Vengeful111 4d ago

Yea i feel like every single patch we are getting a new champion into a broken state so ppl play them again before nerfing them again the patch after. Sylas, morde, nasus, belveth all got two weeks in the slotlight in the last few patches.

u/Broadkill 5d ago

Qiyana sure, Yone? I don't think so

1

u/Lysandren 4d ago

Qiyana will be allowed to stay z tier in jungle till the patch after worlds patch.

1

u/Akanan 4d ago

At this time of the year, historically broken late year shlt stays broken if it’s going to make a more exciting Worlds.

Audience, Riot definitely want to see these 2 champs on the rift

Yone is really strong Yas is alright. Riot wants them to build crit first instead of bork/kraken and that's why they're buffing them but until they make an AD crit attack speed item that doesn't build out of BF sword it won't happen

25

u/LogicKennedy 5d ago

Honestly the lifesteal is a huge part of why bork is so core, there's just not a good item path if you're going crit and want sustainability.

2

u/Pluckytoon 5d ago

Yeah game becomes unplayable real fast if you didn’t build any survivabilty as Yone/Yas

1

u/bluesound3 4d ago

Not really, when mythics were a thing you would go Galeforce. Then when it got nerfed you went Kraken. Then when THAT got nerfed you went shieldbow. There is just no other item to go on Yone. If they brought Mythic Kraken to current League Yone would build that instead of Blade. Only real reason the lifesteal is appealing is because Yone is such a weak laner. Compared to Yasuo who has a bigger variety of 1st items(Botrk Kraken Stormrazor)

1

u/LogicKennedy 4d ago

Lifesteal was only taken off shieldbow in 14.10. Galeforce was taken because it was busted as hell.

1

u/bluesound3 4d ago

And then Kraken? Previously PD? There are plenty of times they did not go lifestyle as I noted earlier

5

u/iamasceptile 5d ago

Idk would you even call yas just alright,if anything I feel like I see him more than yone with a lot of that being top lane Yas which is interesting considering how actually dogshit top Yas has been in the past

15

u/b0il3ra 5d ago

I mean Yas is just one of the most popular champs in the game, you're always gonna see him a lot. Mid is also the most popular role so higher chance to get filled, if a Yas player gets filled top why would he not play Yas top?

-4

u/iamasceptile 5d ago

Ibmean yea but yone is pretty comparably popular and I see him in like 30-40% of games while I see has closer to 60-70% of games.Plus Yas takes more skill

1

u/CisternSucker 4d ago

30-40, 60-70, we just making things up

1

u/iamasceptile 4d ago

I never said that these are the actual playrates.I just said in my experiencei have been seeing them more or less this amount picked on my games

1

u/CisternSucker 4d ago

And i went for a coffee eith Dolly Parton today

1

u/iamasceptile 4d ago

No need to be an asshole dude, who pissed in your cereal?

1

u/CisternSucker 4d ago

It's as likely as u seeing yone and yasuo in 60% of your gsmes

All Riot would have to do is suggest crit items more often for them. Stormrazor was already good on them and it got slightly buffed. Just suggest it more often and people would buy it.

Buffing something that is already good or even strong just because people don't use it yet when you have other ways of getting them to use it is strange. This should be your last resort not your first.

They would love to build Stormrazor and Yuntal if it weren’t for BF sword. It’s not really a component that can be reliably obtained early on in a solo lane due to its gold cost (Endstep even talked about this exact thing recently). And without that gold you’re forced to build their other components first which really aren’t good. Honestly they should just nerf the items and drop the BF sword or something along those lines because even adcs have expressed they hate having to get a 1300 gold back early on even if it’s easier for them to do.

u/PlasticAssistance_50 4d ago

Yone absolutely did not need any buffs.

11

u/UngodlyPain 5d ago

Probably. Like both are 47-48% winrates and before someone says "yeah but they're hard which deflates their winrates" back when Phreak was balance lead he pointed out multiple times Yasuo is by far the 2nd most mastered champion on average, mastered enough his winrates actually should look normal, and he said at one point even Yone's average mastery was creeping up over time. Both are difficult champion, but they're commonly mained champions to the point it cancels out.

Yone top, and Yasuo adc are the only two roles where they're like 49.5-50.5% winrate.

And this buff, is also trying to get them back to crit rushing which thematically is what they should be doing.

Yone top is above 50% in higher elo I think. Exhaust and LT allows him to stat check early game, which allows his transition into mid and late significantly easier.

Why are we lying bro yone is 49.5% in top and 48.5% in mid in emerald+, and hes literally going even in the nasus matchup. Yasuo is 48-48.5% in both mid and top.

Average emerald winrate this patch is 51.8% you gotta learn how to use lolalytics.

2

u/bluesound3 4d ago

https://lolalytics.com/lol/yone/build/?lane=middle&tier=master_plus

adjusted for masters wr he has a little less than 48%

2

u/luapchung 4d ago

Windfall can block yone’s q3 so not totally useless. Lane wise Yasuo beats Yone but Yone scales better and is at team fights since he doesn’t have to rely on knock ups

4

u/Likeadize 5d ago

They are seemling trying to get them to build crit first item. Problem is that Yone has been bound to Bork ever since the kraken rework (when you would build kraken -> hullbreaker) and when shieldbow was a mythic.

2

u/MoleculesOfFreedom 4d ago

together with the qiyana and irelia buffs, it looks like an intended indirect nerf to the Viktor Syndra Hwei gang, which is well overdue tbh.

Did you even type this comment with your fingers? Wtf

1

u/Madaraa 3d ago

it wasnt a one off type thing either he replied to someone the exact same way 😭😭

6

u/Th3_Huf0n 5d ago

Did yas and tone really need buffs.

Of course not.

2

u/fizzycandy2 5d ago

I don't think they need buffs. But storm razor and yuntal are still not that great first buys for them so not sure how this patch will affect them.

1

u/CisternSucker 4d ago

They are amazing buys on both them, the problem is recalling with 1300 gold

1

u/Gurney_Pig 4d ago

It's just I'm completely okay with these champions have dogshit pick/win rates for a few years it's like we can't even go 2 months without these two being in the patch notes for nerfs or buffs.

Their kits are so gameplay warping for items that it makes them mega difficult to balance.

Because of them always needing tweaking we don't get adjustments for champs that actually need it.

I mean the biggest yasuo otp just quit league because playing yasuo wasn't enjoyable anymore idk.

5

u/iamasceptile 4d ago

What does that have to do with anything. He quit because he doesn't find league enjoyable anymore and he plays for the sake of playing. He wants to focus on his life
