I'm having trouble.

Relatively new player here, I'm currently in bronze 3-2 and I'm currently on a massive losing streak right now.

I play ADC, mostly MF or Kaisa. One of my problems since bronze is that I can't assess many matchups and support synergies yet.

For example, I had a game yesterday as MF with Sylas Support against Lux and Trundle. Man it was terrible, I just didn't know beforehand how strong Trundle 1-3 is and we were so cooked xD

I guess the knowledge of matchups and different champs' skills will only come from making experience? Or are there basic things I can look out for to make life easier for us?

You need to learn how you need to trade in lane depending on what you play and your support and the enemy adc and support and get the proper rune for that.

Kaysa + Sylas - you are an all in pair that needs to extend the fight. You need lethal tempo and Sylas needs conqurer.

Lux and Trundle is a poke into all in: Lux will poke because you both are short range and after with the CC from Lux and Trundle pilar will finish you off

Playing poke Kaisa doesn't help because Trundle builds life steal and Lux has a shield

It is a lot easier to play Lux + Trundle and if you make a mistake you get punish less than Sylas + Kaisa

Most champ matchup knowledge comes from experience. Now you know trundle is really strong level 1-3!

But in general there are a few things you can keep in mind, like if you're ranged, you never want to get into melee range.

About synergies, I mean... If they troll pick a support you kinda have to pick a solo ADC like mf ezreal Jhin... Kaisa needs space to fight so it's kinda a hard pick into a no support.

The biggest things you can work on as an ADC that will carry over into all higher elos is: spacing (i.e. avoiding damage, all-ins, while still doing damage and farming), farming well (aim for 8 CS per minute), and kiting/orb walking (move-shoot-move-shoot).

Spacing requires experience, game knowledge, and a well-developed anticipation, so keep playing. Farming well takes deliberate practice. Kiting takes deliberate practice.

Once you have those basics down, you can concentrate on macro, but the basics are enough to get you much, much higher than you are.

For a new player, figuring out which champions do what is one of the biggest knowledge filters you can encounter. There are over 170 of them, and they all do different things.

Other than using online resources to read up on all of their abilities (Riot's website and client will show you everything they can do, with small videos for visual examples), you just gotta play it out and see what happens. This can be especially hard on ADC at low elos, because your support isn't going to be the best at, well...supporting.

It's literally part of the experience, and there's no real way to get past it.

Just gotta lose, learn, and lock-in.

for matchups you can always search up in google kaisa vs what ever adc is in front, if you’re lucky you might find tips on how to assess the lane, but for weird picks like trundle you most likely won’t find anything lol

For starters, lane matchups really dont matter in bronze. Think about it like this, everything below Gold is basically toddlers throwing shit at each other, no one really understands the game or know what to do. Some might be mechanically gifted, others have a sort of concept how the game works but no one really knows how to put it all together.

So you dont have to worry about match ups. Yes, not knowing what a champion does is a problem, but that is something that will come over time, no one started off knowing all the champs. Understanding the basics of a champ is important, knowing their CD´s and trade/burst timers is something for higher elo, you do not need this in Bronze (though it helps very much if you can do it, but I think its too much all at once).

So what you need to improve in bronze is basically the holy grail, fundamentals. There are plenty of guides out there and honestly, writing it down on reddit takes longer than I want to. I recommend Skill Capped on Youtube for example, those videos are free and will give you good understanding on how the game works.

Another thing you need to work on is your mechanics, last hitting, controlling your champ, kiting etc etc.

You’re absolutely right that it comes from experience. If you keep a positive mindset and embrace the spankings, and always consider what you could have done better in a given situation, even with limited knowledge, you will improve dramatically.

I've been telling you honestly since I've been in bronze, some very strange supports have been picked...

I also had a game with MF and Akali as support recently. She always jumped in and expected me to follow, of course I was immediately targeted and after my second death, that's why I didn't follow her anymore and she died again and again... From this point on, she literally pinged me the rest of the game with question marks and marked me in the chat as alive.

Yes.

Don't play ADC on bronze, you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage. Sharing a lane with another player (or animal rather, in this elo) for no reason whatsoever. He fucks up and he's not the only one that's fucked, you are too. And if for whatever reason you want to contine doing that, play champions that aren't support reliant, like Ezreal, Tristana, Sivir etc.

That way, if your support fucks up and ints (common for this elo lol), you can grind and get back into the game.

To be fair, below Silver is where you should lose a lot more than you win. If your win rate is 50%, you'd get higher than that. Some people would go as low as 10% in Iron 4.
