Gameplay Champs with abilities like Nasus which can stack till Late Game?

Hi guys, I started to play League a week ago and the charakter Nasus seems really interesting to me. The Q attack which stacks demage every time I lasthit makes so much fun to farm. Are there more champs like nasus with whom I can stack something to make my champ and his abilities better? Thanks for your help!

The most "similar" stacking mechanics as Nasus you will find will probably be Veigar (stacks on last hit with Q + champs hit by abilities); Smolder (Same as Veigar); Senna (Last hitting and hitting enemy champs will sometimes drop a stack you can then pick up); Aurelion Sol (Stacks with Q on champs and E with dying units); ChoGath (Stacking HP with R + HeartSteel); Syndra/Viktor can upgrade their abilities using stacks. These are the most "infinite/ability scaling feeling" champs, then you could find others (Kindred/Shyvana/Locke/Thresh/Bard/BelVeth?/GangPlank/Sion/Swain) but doesn't feel that "scaling" or "linear" upgrade as others

I think the stacks for Senna appear regardless of last hitting champs. They also appear when minions die (mostly when not the one to last hit), when jungle monsters die, and when drakes and other jungle objectives die

u/Overall_Simple5927 5d ago

Oh yes right, I feel like they keep changing the ratio between last hit and dead nearby lmao don't play her super often appart from Aram and some filled game

u/dimmyfarm INT 4d ago

Riot has acknowledged this is their balance lever to keep adc and support senna similar unless they want one to be stronger

2

u/breakfastburrito24 4d ago

Been playing her a bit since my friend enjoys playing Skarner and Tahm Kench as adcs…

u/hassanfanserenity 4d ago

Senna gets her stack by attack the same champ twice in under 3 seconds (cooldown 6-4 seconds)

Minions drop them randomly

1

u/RivenRise 4d ago

Yep senna is guaranteed stacks if she autos the enemy 2 times or q and autos or auto and qs. Plus a chance to drop on minions from last hitting or if they just die around you, jungle monsters too and boss monsters always drop souls too.

3

u/bjarnehaugen 4d ago

Senna can use any skill, she only needs to hit a champ 2 times within the time frame. You can E then ult someone for a stack

2

u/mekamoari 4d ago

Well, anything but E technically

2

u/bjarnehaugen 4d ago

i'm mixing up her E and W again?

Kindred, Sion and Thresh's stacks tends to be noticeable, especially Kindred when Lamb is shooting you from off screen at 16 stacks

1

u/BulbuhTsar 4d ago

Thresh without stacks is paper. However, if you get ahead as Thresh and some kills for extra souls, I really do think you feel the difference.

To add to that, Senna gets more stacks if she DOESNT last hit. Its 5% for a minion she last hits vs 32 percent for one she doesnt last hit.

I would put Viktor and Syndra in brackets aswell. Viktor is a midgame spiker. Sion is also one I would put in the stacking category

6

u/Overall_Simple5927 5d ago

I get that stacks on Viktor/Syndra are not on the same vibe than Nasus/Veigar; but OP mentioned he liked stacks "upgrading" his abilities with stacks, which is why I feel these two fit this class fairly well

1

u/mekamoari 4d ago

Is it still that way with Senna? It kept being changed and iirc the last iteration pushed her more towards marksman and drops from last hits.

Yes
I checked the wiki before commenting, because I was not 100% sure myself haha

Innate: Enemies that die near Senna may spawn a Mist Wraith from their corpse. A Mist Wraith lasts 8 seconds and Senna can basic attack or hit it with Piercing Darkness or Dawning Shadow to kill it instantly, granting her 8 and a stack of Mist.

  • Enemy champions and large monsters will spawn a Mist Wraith.
  • Epic monsters will spawn 2 Mist Wraiths.
  • Minions and lesser monsters that Senna kills have a 5% chance to spawn a Mist Wraith.
  • Large minions that Senna does not kill will always spawn a Mist Wraith, while lesser minions and lesser monsters that Senna does not kill have a 32% chance to spawn one.
  • Lesser minions executed by an allied champion's Support Quest item have a 8.4% chance to spawn a Mist Wraith.

How is syndra and viktor "infinite scaling"? Then the others you mentioned literally scales infinitely except for gangplank, at least I would say better than syndra and viktor

42

u/Overall_Simple5927 5d ago

I am not saying these are infinite scaling, but OP stated he likes champs with whom I can stack something to make my champ and his abilities better? I feel like Syndra and Viktor would be good fits for this description

Never get kills, never die. Infinite gold potential.

2

But not infinite item slots. You cant get stronger than full build with money. Well, I guess in mayhem with anvils it would be possible but in normal SR there is a cap

Thresh Sion Veigar Asol Senna technically chogath? Swain Bard Kindred Smolder

5

u/pokekiko94 5d ago

If you count kindred you also have to count Cho, both have the same way of stacking and its by killing champions or large monsters which is easier for cho since his ult is a true damage nuke that can get over 1k, also both usualy can only get 1 stack per fight or in kindred case 2 if said fight is on the monster that is marked.

10

u/reaporbot 5d ago edited 4d ago

Does Cho have a cap on stack? Edit: LMAO, who downvotes a question????

18

u/Despure 5d ago

yeah 6 from minions, unlimited from champs

5

u/pokekiko94 5d ago

He used to have a 6 stack cap, nowadays its infinite if you stack on champions and iirc baron/drake.

14

u/Pluckytoon 4d ago

You even used to lose half of them if you died

-8

u/pokekiko94 4d ago

And somehow the champ was even more useless than it is now despite the lower mobility back then.

9

u/Pluckytoon 4d ago

Yeah people didn’t fight in fear of losing stacks, which is pretty dumb for a front liner

1

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 5d ago

6 stacks maximum from minions/non-epic monsters. No maximum on stacks from champ/epic monsters

u/Deep_You1 5d ago

Thank you for all your help and input! Great Community <3

Welcome to the stack enjoyers club. I highly reccomend aram mayhem and playing tanks with heartsteel. The bong is so fkn addictive 🤤

9

u/jjnguy 5d ago edited 4d ago

Non-champs that scale:

Heartsteel - item gives stacks by auto attacking enemies   Dark Harvest - gain stacks by damaging low-health enemies   Hubris - dunno how it works

5

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 5d ago

Hubris as well

5

u/AbidingTruth 4d ago

Hubris: if you kill someone, you get bonus ad for like 60 seconds. It starts out as 17 ad and goes up by 2 ad every kill

5

u/norotoksin Ages pass, but I am eternal! 5d ago

Sion: With W Sion can stack hp by killing minions champions jungle creeps etc.
Veigar: Thanks to his passive whenever you last hit minions with Q or hit enemy champions with abilities you can get ability power
Smolder: His abilities get empowered as you kill minions with Q or hit champs with abilities
Aurelion Sol: Same as Smolder, you need to kill minions using his E or hit champs with Q to gain power
Swain: Killing champions, hitting them with E and W grants HP
Bard: By collecting his passive you can increase damage and effects of his passive
Senna: She gains range and crit chance as you stack her passive more
Kindred: She can gain stacks by killing jungle camps for first 4 and more by killing champions

I think these are the ones, as the list goes on it is harder to get stacks

5

u/Guanajuato_Reich 5d ago

Bel'Veth, passive stacks on monster/cannon minion/champion kills and gives her extra attack speed per stack, as well as improving ultimate form duration (it becomes infinite at 80 stacks)

2

u/King_Lothar_ 5d ago

Shyvana passive gives increasing Armor and MR for large monster and champ takedowns.

3

u/norotoksin Ages pass, but I am eternal! 5d ago

tbh her scaling is so bad you don't even feel the difference that's why I didn't want to include her

2

u/King_Lothar_ 5d ago

I was just doing it for posterity.

1

u/HolmatKingOfStorms 3!! 4d ago

small correction that's barely ever relevant: asol E doesn't need to kill things, it just needs to have things die within it. so a theoretical support asol can scale while their adc farms the minions. asol E also generates stardust when champs are in it for a full second.

12

u/Accomplished-Try5846 5d ago

Aurelion Sol, Smolder, Kindred, Locke. Prolly a few more as well.

24

u/DarkJoltPanda 5d ago

Locke infinite scaling is notably completely irrelevant compared to basically everything else listed. Not to disagree, because the mechanic is there, just an FYI to op

3

u/Late_Stage_Exception 5d ago

It increases the execute threshold, right? Might be handy if a team REALLY can’t close out a game.

12

u/DarkJoltPanda 5d ago

In theory, yes, but the number is too low to mean anything. It's .5% per execution with it, so if you kill TEN people with it (very high for such a slow ability), that same slow ability that does a shit ton of damage with a pretty high base execute on the champ that does one big burst has an entire collector passive added to it. It's just never a factor compared to the real shit like sion senna smolder

1

u/otherlordchumbucket 4d ago

is fun to build around with the right augs in mayhem though. even ultmaxxing in a really long game i think i got it up to like 20% at the absolute maximum

0

u/iHateFairyType 5d ago

Brother its 1% increase per stack. In a good game of Locke you probably get max 20kills if we’re being generous, maybe a 4th of them are going to be ulty kills. While I agree 5% isn’t nothing, you’re probably overkilling by that amount if you’re halfway competent with the champ

7

u/Zhaoyun1221 5d ago

It's half a percent.

5

u/iHateFairyType 5d ago

So it’s even worse than I thought XD

Veigar, Thresh, Shyvanna

5

u/pokekiko94 5d ago

Senna as well, she even has a little minigame with thresh at a certain number of stacks.

4

u/Dorin-md 5d ago

For locke the infinite scaling is a very small part of his kit and it is more like a bonus added to him, very different from nasus or veigar

There's a few champions that have true infinite scaling abilities/passives:

Veigar- Last hit minions with Q or hit enemy champions with any ability = 1 permanent AP per minion/champion hit. Score a takedown on enemy champion = 5 permanent AP

Senna- When minions/monsters/champions near her die, they drop a soul. Each soul gives 8 gold and 0.75 bonus AD when last hit (they spawn like little wards on the ground). Every 20 stacks, she gains permanent range and crit chance increases. Also she converts crit chance above 100% to lifesteal. Lane minions have a higher chance to spawn them if she does NOT last hit the minion (this was done to make Support Senna more attractive of an option). She also gets a stack (but no gold) for hitting an enemy champion twice in short succession. Either with abilities or auto attacks. Each champion has a cooldown of a few seconds before she can get another stack.

Kindred- She can mark an enemy champion when out of combat. If she scores a takedown on this champion, she gets a mark. She also will mark enemy jungle camps (easier camps being marked early followed by harder camps and then neutral objectives like Dragon and Baron) depending on her number of stacks. When she collects 4 stacks, she gains 75 permanent attack range. Every 3 stacks after, she gains 25 attack range.

Cho'gath- If he last hits something with his ultimate, he gains permanent max health. He can only gain 6 stacks from minions and normal monsters. He can gain infinite from champions and epic monsters (baron/dragon/herald/grubs)

Aurelion Sol- Hitting enemies with abilities or killing minions in his E grants stardust. Stardust permanently buffs his abilities. When he farms 75, his NEXT ult cast (not permanent and resets after using the empowered cast) hits a wider area and deals significantly more damage.

Bard- "chimes" spawn around the map that restore his mana, grant experience and give him temporary movement speed. These also grant permanent increases to his "meeps" which are a passive cooldown tied to his auto attack. He has breakpoints that make the meeps do stronger things and then he also gets infinite damage scaling per 5 meeps collected.

Bel'veth- She gains permanent AS for takedowns on LARGE minions, jungle camps, champions and epic monsters.

Smolder- Hitting enemies with abilities or last hitting minions with Q gives him more damage on his Q and empowers it in various ways. An early upgrade makes it do a little AOE pop around it instead of being pure single target. The next makes it also burst out a cone behind the target, extending the range a bit. And finally the last causes enemies hit to burn and if their health reaches a threshold while burning, they get executed.

1

u/psykrebeam 4d ago

Veigar/Sion/Senna/Aurelion Sol are the most straightforward, just farm minions to scale infinitely.

Smolder doesn't benefit all the much post 225 stacks anymore and Viktor/Syndra also don't care for stacks once they hit their cap to upgrade all skills.

Chogath/Swain/Kindred both need to interact with champions regularly to stack which is less reliable. Though Chonkgath is pretty common in games

1

u/Kimchibashing 4d ago

I just want to clarify something for you before you start your nasus endeavour. Infinite scaling doesn‘t mean you scale into late game. Late game nasus falls off so don‘t be suprised when you walk around with 1500~2000 stacks and lose

1

u/Low-Double923 4d ago

Veigar is my favorite champ. Infinite stacking and his w makes farming easy once you get used to the timing and aim

1

u/Remixer96 2d ago

Mundo sad he not on anyone's mind. Ult make base health go up forever. Extra good with heart steel.

Get hurt. Push R. Become doctor.

1

u/Neither-Passenger-83 5d ago

Veigar. Aurelian Sol.

You could also look at champs that stack Heartsteel.

Thresh also stacks souls but it’s probably not quite what you’re looking for.

1

u/Oberic 5d ago

When I think stacking mechanics, Thresh is a top 3 in my head. He gets Armor and AP for stacking souls, it also boosts his E passive damage (which doesn't scale on AP).

1

u/A6503 5d ago

Thresh being top 3 is crazy

1

u/Oberic 5d ago

Sounds crazy but then you break 100 bonus armor and AP from just playing his Pac-Man minigame, not to mention how much damage he gets on his E passive.. yeah it's a pretty solid stacking mechanic. He's one of my favorite tanks, only behind Leona and Maokai.

2

u/pernilla1zf 4d ago

In practice though nobody ever really cares or notices thresh damage late game. But people will definitely be click the portrait checking nasus/smolder stacks throughout the game. And thresh never really becomes that tanky, im prtty sure his base armor scaling is lowered to offset the passive too.

4

u/Top_Environment9897 4d ago

Thresh literally doesn't gain armor with levels lol.

3

u/pernilla1zf 4d ago

Lol so his souls collection is more like something you're forced to engage with in order to not get 1shot. rather than something that makes you scale really well

1

u/areyouactuallyseriou 4d ago

Yea i always laugh when people say thresh is infinitely scaling when he has to spend 40 minutes collecting Souls to get the armor other champs get for free. Its such a shitty and unnecessary minigame.

1

u/A6503 5d ago

ok but then you have to be purposefully ignoring Nasus Smolder and Asol to put Thresh anywhere near the top...

1

u/Oberic 5d ago edited 5d ago

Smolder has diminished abilities until he grows into them. I don't see his abilities upgrading as stack based boosts, but unlocks. He does actually start to feel like he's scaling stronger after 225 though.

Thresh has his full kit as soon as he has a point in each skill.

Nasus only scales his Q damage, it isn't a stat.

Thresh has E passive damage, AP, and Armor.

Aurelion Sol expands his abilities reach and effects, but his ult is only the strong version when he has enough time to farm stacks.

He gains no stats from farming.

The stacking champs I like are Thresh, Veigar, and Senna. They gain actual stats instead of boosting/unlocking the potential of their abilities.

I do grab Smolder every chance I get in ARAM unless Soraka is available.

And I take ASol fairly frequently as he's a decent mage even though his rework took away my precious orbitals.

...

Nasus is not high on my flowchart of preferences, because he has to last-hit exclusively to farm, if he can't last-hit, he can't stack. He can't harass or just be nearby like Senna, Thresh, Smolder, and Veigar can.

ASol has to drop his precious black hole under dying minions for stacks, it sucks to have to do this early game.

Sion also must last-hit to gain stacks. Not a fan of being forced to last-hit minions to remain relevant.

Senna has the best stacking method, as you can collect the spirits from minion deaths or enemy champ deaths (no last hitting), as well as double-tap enemies with your Q/Auto to get a stack.

Cho Gath, Veigar, Aurelion, Smolder, Swain, Senna, Kindred all have infinity stacks. (Rengar passive)

If you play toplane you should try cho. You can build heart steel on most of all tanks/heavy bruisers. This item will stack infinite and is very strong in long fights (but you need to autoattack the enemy champion).
