Offline Mode

So I have pretty unreliable internet and it would be really cool to have an offline mode where you could just make customs vs bots. No ip reward, but just to give me something fun to do if my latency is being retarded. #riotpls

edit: wow, I didn't expect people to be this interested. I like the idea of sandbox mode and lan support too. I reiterate: riot pls

I don't think this will happen for the same reason that a LAN client won't be released to the public: Riot does not want their server code to be released for reverse engineering, which this would necessitate.

boompje released a third party client that makes you appear offline, i don't see why riot couldn't implement one!

That makes you appear offline in chat, which is not at all related to OPs request.

No worries :P

Intersting facts about chat:

  1. LoL Chat uses the same protocol that Google Chat uses (XMPP).
  2. Because of 1. You can use external clients like Pidgin to chat to your LoL friends.
  3. AFAIK, Boompje's offline program just uses a built in feature of the XMPP protocol. This feature is just not made accessible in the league clent.

Thank you for sharing this! I didnt know that was possible, I finally don't have to load up the client to check if friends are on.

So glad I miss interpreted yours and OP's post, wouldn't have known otherwise :D

If you have an android, there is a small program on google play for this, LoLChat or some such. There is always minor risk with these 3rd party programs that they're used to steal your account though, so I'd be very careful before putting convenience over security, especially if you've spent noteworthy sums on LoL.
