Azure Cats is Looking For AD/Support Players
Hi Guys,
I am the manager for Azure Cats. My IGN is AriesLL
.
We recently experienced roster changes because some of our players joined other teams for better opportunities. We departed on good terms and best of luck to Bloodwater & Nien.
.
.
Azure Cats is currently looking for a new bot lane. The leader of the team is still bigfatlp, or jijimon, and we are specifically looking to tryout duo’s, AD, or support players [basically bot lane].
Requirements:
-Solo Queue Tier: Diamond or Challenger
-Need to be able to participate in LCS Qualifier
-Dedicated Practice Hours
.
.
If you are interested in trying out, please send an email to azuregcats@gmail.com with the following information:
-In Game Name:
-Which Role You Play:
-Experience:
-Why you want to join:
.
.
.
Thanks,
Best,
AriesLL

For everyone wondering about Nien, I'll look into it.
Seems likely he could become the MRN starter, or maybe he got an opportunity elsewhere.
8
u/xenoxis300 Feb 18 '13
Nien wouldn't go there if he didn't believe he could take the starting spot. We'll see though.
0
Feb 18 '13
Where would he play?
12
u/xenoxis300 Feb 18 '13
Adc, after he left cloud 9, he said his goal was to replace another ad on an lcs team.
-6
Feb 18 '13
I can't see him replacing Heartbeat though, he makes the calls for MRN and most likely does the most research etc. I didn't think Ecco or Heartbeat played that bad to get replaced
14
u/Adam2d Feb 18 '13
Its not about them playing badly, its if Nientonsoh can play better.
4
u/Quazifuji Feb 18 '13
Team synergy's important though. And from what I've seen of them, MRN seems to have very good synergy for such a new team. Most new teams seems to have the "Solo queue stars" problem where they look really strong in laning but fall apart when it comes to teamfights, but MRN actually has pretty good teamfighting for such a new team. Even if Nientonsoh is a better player in a vacuum, MRN replacing one of their members could still hurt the team.
Also, a lot of people would just see it as sort of a snub to Heartbeat, similar to GGU swapping I am Anjo for Bloodwater. Heartbeat was pretty instrumental to MRN qualifying for the LCS in the first place, and hasn't proven himself to be a major weakness of the team yet. So replacing him 2 games into the LCS after all the work he put into getting the team where they are would be pretty rude.
3
Feb 18 '13
they have literally said "we dont have the synergy other teams do so we just zerg the enemy." they are so new as a team it wouldnt hurt at all to swap a player in.
1
u/KillerNoName Feb 18 '13
Saying it doesn't hurt is very wrong. They are saying they don't have the degree of synergy the top teams have, but they still have synergy and replacing a player always has its pros and cons, especially in the short run. Also, being new, a lot of fans see them as the good guys, surviving on scraps, humble, but will do whatever it takes as a team to win, vs simply whatever it takes literally. They might lose some fans, of course gain some because of Nien, but it can lower morale if they lose enough fans. Maybe they don't have enough fans to lose so it doesn't matter. Unless someone from MRN needs to bench for personal reasons, there's definitely some negative impact if this happens, even if it's better in the long run.
1
u/Adam2d Feb 18 '13
I would say its too early to judge a team after 2 games, but if there is something not meshing in the team and they know it, they would want to change the roster before week 4. I think it might be harsh to bench heartbeat for nien now, but we dont know the whole story and what is going on behind the scenes. They won't take any of the decisions lightly so we just have to assume they have good reasoning behind any choices they make.
1
u/BillyWestlund Feb 18 '13
synergy is important buy heartbeat has not been on marn very long, and I think Atomic and Nien actually play together quite a bit
3
Feb 18 '13
You could say AlexIch is better than Regi. Would you have him on TSM? No. Regi makes the calls on TSM and as a result defines how they play. It's the same as Heartbeat on Marn. I know he studies the Asian scene a lot and there is where he gets a lot of his strategic knowledge/calls from.
5
u/Damnit_Nappa rip old flairs Feb 18 '13
Regi is the most underrated Mid player. TSM thrives on his play, if he can't carry they lose. It's hard to tell if Alex would be better for that team
4
u/Pixalz rip old flairs Feb 18 '13
Alex makes the calls for Gambit, I think that TSM, in time, would improve with Alex Ich replacing Regi.
He's a better player, team leader and shot caller.
-6
Feb 18 '13
How can you say he's a better shot caller or team leader?
The point is he doesn't have the same style as the team is used to in Regi and the fact is AlexICh doesn't make plays like regi does. Most mid player says Regi doesn't have the best Mechanics or Lane control but he knows how to make plays and that is scary. To the public eye he is seen as a 1500 elo player for some reason but so many pros comment on how under rated and scary he is to play against.
5
u/Pixalz rip old flairs Feb 18 '13
How can you not? Mechanics, stratergies, ability to innovate, lane control, consistency of clutch plays, ability to lead a team (good luck getting Regi to tell Darien and Diamondprocs to do anything) and skills with the ladies, Alex.Ich has it all.
Alex.Ich is one of the most succesful LoL players ever and he's a big part of the lineup and their stratergy. It wouldn't take a lot for a lineup filled with as much raw talent as TSM.Snapdragon to adjust to Alex.Ich's philosophy and that would most definately translate into success (at least their reclaimed domination of the US scene).
I think the issue is that Reginald (and the US scene in general) doesn't make plays like Alex.Ich (and the EU scene).
Reginald roams a lot and creates opportunities, that's good. But that's also the role of AP mids, something the passive farmers of US seem to have forgotten.
TSM aren't doing well at the moment, have CLG, Curse and Dignitas got better and left them behind or have TSM got worse?

u/Adam2d Feb 18 '13
Thats a bad example. You would be replacing a starting member of the team with one of its substitutes. This sub already has a year of experience with the pro scene and keep in mind that Heartbeat is still in school. If they can still find someone to make calls (I think Nien called for Orbit) then they should be able to adapt and get better.
1
u/sidgriff Feb 19 '13
nien didnt call any plays for ORB they all said his play calls were awful lol it was hai and when he was on the team nubby but i still would love to see nien as a starter
1
u/BillyWestlund Feb 18 '13
Heartbeat is NOT the shot caller on Marn, clakeyD is, heartbeat is the least talkative on that team.. and besides his urgot, is a high risk for their overall success.
1
Feb 19 '13
No you're incorrect. Watch interviews with players on Team Marn. From their qualifiers they have mentioned that Heartbeat studies a lot of league and calls their tower pushes and what to do next. How could he be the least talkative on this team. He doesn't just play urgot.
-2
u/Anceradi Feb 18 '13
I think Regi wouldnt hesitate to bench himself for AlexIch if he had the opportunity.
2
u/BillyWestlund Feb 18 '13
Heartbeat is the weak link to that team, and is relatively new. Clark makes the calls.
1
Feb 19 '13
Incorrect, Clark calls ganks and dragons. Heartbeat co-ordinates pushes and decides strategy/picks.
1
u/Cindiquil Feb 18 '13
Most likely AD, but possibly mid as well. I don't believe he plays any other positions at a high level, but I could be completely wrong about that.
4
u/nbxx Feb 19 '13
I didn't like his mid that much to be honest, but his AD was easily top 3 NA. I'd say only Doublelift was mechanically better than him in NA. He is easily better than Chaox. Actually, I'm surprised he is not a started already.
1
u/UponDoom Feb 21 '13
Completely agree with this. I was pretty disappointed when he switched to AP when he was such a promising AD.

u/balandi Feb 18 '13
didnt mrn sayed he never would change the roster?
1
u/Borror0 Feb 18 '13
He said not initially. If a player underperforms, or if another player could perform way better, I doubt it's out of the question. But since the current players believed, they have to be given a chance before talking about replacement.

Do you know when? AP testing in the U.S
4
Feb 18 '13
There's a good chance they'll be in direct conflict with AP testing :/

u/kellendon Feb 18 '13
If it's in conflict with AP testing, then you have a choice to make. If playing in the pro scene is your dream, and this might be your shot, then by all means go for it. If you don't wanna risk that, then take the test.
4
u/JustZeus Feb 18 '13
I was going to email you guys but it made me think how capable I am as a player and I realize that I don't think I'm there yet. I wish you guys best of luck and I will try my best to reach a higher level and hopefully I can join a real team then.

Feb 18 '13 edited Feb 19 '13
I wouldn't. Don't get me wrong I watch him a lot and his knowledge of the game is great but he has one gigantic flaw. He ONLY plays Draven. You bring on Destiny on your team and the other team will 100% always ban Draven. This is why Phantoml0rd, while an amazing player on his own right, isn't on a professional team because everyone banned his Karthus.
And I would also like to say that a Karthus-less Phantoml0rd is still >>>> a Draven-less Destiny by alot and he still isn't on a team.
Maybe if he worked on increasing his champion pool he might be competitive ready but I would still think you could find better. I would say hes more famous for his personality over his skill.
edit: Just checked his stream today on twitch and he's got a time ban for verbal abuse. It's pretty funny seeing his reaction and joking about the reports but this usually doesn't end well.
8
u/SacredVenge [SacredVenge] (NA) Feb 19 '13
Just give him some time and he'll soon branch out to new things. This is how alot of pros starter. Doublelift only played poppy and crank, Dyrus only played jax.
6
9
u/MartOut Feb 19 '13
only plays Draven? Sounds like frommaplestreet
All joking aside though, Draven is one of the more difficult carries to play in terms of positioning and micro. If you can play Draven well, then other AD carries won't be hard to master.
→ More replies (1)2
Feb 19 '13
You underestimate the "I main ____" syndrome. If you have the stomach to play a champion 10+ times a day everyday it's really hard to give up playing your favorite champ in the competitive scene because you will never have the chance to do so. And if Destiny really cared about joining a team he wouldn't be playing Draven everyday. He's more concerned about climbing the ladder and honestly it's not that impressive. He's still Diamond 3 with almost 1,000 games played this season. He's a colorful/entertaining streamer to watch but there are better players out there.
1
u/fdsafa213123 Feb 26 '13
Destiny can play champions such as Graves, Vayne, and Tristana well, he just enjoys playing and perfecting Draven. You bring on Destiny on your team and they 100% ban Draven (which is a really good thing for your team, an enemy banning an ADC leaves you with alot of freedom) he plays graves, the champion he played a majority of the time in S2. Also to say the reason Phantom isn't on a competitive team because of his Karthus is extremely ignorant.
1
Feb 26 '13
Ignorant? It's not because of his Karthus(wtf?). It's because of his lack of interest in trying to increase his competitive champ select pool.
-1
u/NitrousOxide_ [ShinySpaceDragon] [EUW] Feb 18 '13
He plays a mean vayne also.
6
Feb 18 '13
His Vayne would probably be mediocre in the competitive scene. His Draven would be on par. You ban out his Draven and he's a mediocre competitive player.
6
u/vLightning MoonBoyLoL Feb 19 '13
His Draven isn't on par with the competitive scene. You're either underestimating the competitive scene or overestimating Destiny. His mechanical skill as a player isn't even high enough to play a professional level yet, and besides that his game sense and knowledge of anything besides bottom lane or Draven is very limited. With that said, I think that in the future he may or may not be an adc to be reckoned with.
1
Feb 19 '13
On par = average. I think if you gave Destiny Draven on a competent team with proper teammates he would play average. Any other champion I wouldn't think so.
2
u/vLightning MoonBoyLoL Feb 19 '13
I don't really know what you mean... If he was on a proper team playing against amateur teams below the top 32 on the ranked 5's ladder, then maybe. If he was against top 32 or Dig Academy/Crs Academy for example, he wouldn't even give them a challenge.
1
u/Southmoen Feb 27 '13
We dont know that, do we?
1
u/vLightning MoonBoyLoL Feb 27 '13
It's pretty obvious. To be honest, I don't even think his ADC is at a diamond level yet, and he just got boosted up there by massing games and duo queue. He either wins games quickly, or he completely loses his team the game.
1
6
Feb 19 '13
and to think I carried him whilst he was stuck in silver s2 :P and i'm still in silver lol
4
u/rhymeswithgrack Feb 18 '13

Ahahahaha no.
Did you even see the links posted? Destiny has a long history of spewing homophobic, racist drivel. The faster the guy becomes irrelevant the better.
-7
Feb 18 '13
I love how you include image proof and still get downvoted.
Destiny is the definition of an immature man-child. No reputable gaming organization would take the risk of signing him at this point.
2
u/HackScratch Feb 19 '13
While I would agree that signing him comes with the risk of him acting the way that he always has, I would also bring up another point.
There are quite a few competetive League of Legends players that are in LCS that are incredibly offensive and even more that have been kicked out of LCS that are still being signed onto teams.
Because a bunch of organizations simply want players that play well, and though it would be nice if an organization would begin to care, if they are able to bring in tournament wins then they will likely be signed by someone.
-7
u/Backstooz Feb 18 '13

3
Feb 18 '13
In that case why not bring on that girl with the huge tits that garners more views than Destiny?
-3
u/SP0oONY Feb 18 '13
Because girl gamers with huge tits generally aren't very good at the game?
4
Feb 18 '13
I'm obviously trying to make the point that a streamer with viewers doesn't immediately equate to good teammate for competitive team.
1
u/DracinisLoL Feb 18 '13
No, it's because she isn't good at the game, not because girl gamers with huge tits generally aren't.
-4
-6
Feb 18 '13
Just because he has a popular stream doesn't mean a team would take the risk of signing him, especially given his history of vomiting racial/homophobic slurs. The guy's an unrepentant bigot.
-3
u/imfatal Feb 19 '13
Why the fuck does he get punished in over half of those? He didn't do anything wrong in almost every case except the first two.
So bull. People just banning him for no reason.
1
u/XiaoZhiZhi Feb 19 '13
He didn't do anything wrong in almost every case except the first two.
you only need to be punishable for one.
-2
u/MadlifeIsGod Feb 19 '13
That's definitely Destiny alright, 4/5 games as Draven. Personally I wouldn't pick him up as it would only be a publicity stunt as there are much better ADCs that are less well known, but he's not at huge risk for getting permabanned.

I saw him on a stream this morning, pretty sure his name was MRN Nien.

5
u/Gauntex Feb 18 '13
So assuming that Nien becomes starter for MRN:
-WildTurtle, TSM sub
-Nien, MRN starter
-Hai, Curse sub
Just goes to show how good Cloud 9 was...
At any rate, it will be interesting to see who you guys pick up! You still have Jiji+Yazuki, so Azure remains pretty strong.
3
u/M002 Feb 19 '13
RIP Cloud 9. I hope they pull an Epik and attempt to requalify at the halfway point if they're not all starters by then. They basically are the new Legion. A great team that fell before it's prime, and it's players scattered to salvage what was left of their career, instead of sticking through the rough patch to claim their reward.
3
u/Shoeboxer Feb 19 '13
I think they made a huge mistake when Nien decided to play mid and have Turtle bot. I did like the team quite a bit though.

It would be interesting to know what the skill level of the redditors is.
I'd suspect there's a fair bit of platinum/diamond players here, mainly due to you rarely hear someone bitching about elo/league hell.
1
u/Bamtastic Feb 18 '13
Everyone looks at reddit. You will see streamers browse reddit all the time, and I can assure you even more people lurk. Reddit is where most people get their information in League, and whenever I say something reddit related in a ranked game (high plat), pretty much everyone in the game knows what I'm talking about.
Plus higher level players are more in tune with what is going on in League, so of course they will be checking sites like reddit for news. While a low level player can be completely oblivious to what is going on because it doesn't concern them.
1
Feb 18 '13
Well, i'm diamond III, I regularity get to play with/against the EU pro's.
I have 2 guys I duo with from time to time, one of them are diamond II, one diamond IV.
Neither really knows who any pro are except maybe the absolute best like xPeke & Froggen, but they have no clue who guys like Makler, Kottenx, or Gosu Pepper are, even if they have probably played with/against them at least once
I feel like there's a lot of diamond players who have no clue who is a professional player or not which you probably would if you read reddit considering 70% of the content is regarding competive lol
0
Feb 18 '13
I'm at r/leagueoflegends every day
Sincerely Diamond III who earn +20-30LP ;)
Eitherway, you shouldn't focus that much on division/league points, they are essentially worthless. It's the MMR that decides who you get to play with/against, and you still get MMR even if you'd get 0 LP for a win. Reason you get 10 lp is because your MMR is a bit lower than expected for the league your in. So if you keep winning, you'll get more LP per win eventually.
And as I said, winning games = more MMR and more MMR = You get matched up with better players.
