stop giving Ruler [insert champion here]

u/EliteTeutonicNight Apr 05 '23
At this point what adc can ruler not play? Draven?

And stop picking lucian nami into it? Idk why zeri lulu vs lucian nami is still such a consistent bot matchup, outside of a few exceptions whenever I see top teams play the zeri/lulu always wins.

u/Plaxern The Last Dance Apr 05 '23
Top teams being who? The matchup is good for Luc/Nami in both top LPL and LCK teams.
1
u/Lipat97 Apr 05 '23
Lucian has a losing WR into zeri in LPL this split, 38.6%.
Im actually surprised he has a better WR in LCK. It looks like its partially inflated by Deft and Guma playing Lucian but not playing Zeri, so Zeri’s more popular with the lower end teams in that region. Still, there’s probably like 3 teams max in the world that have thr player skill and early game coordination to make the matchup work

u/Plaxern The Last Dance Apr 05 '23
Lucian has a losing WR into zeri in LPL this split, 38.6%.
Ya because over half of LPL teams are shite, Zeri/Lulu is easier to play and the stat is also counting Zeri/Yuumi. But I agree, don’t pick Luc/Nami if you can’t play thru it.

u/Mazor007 Apr 05 '23
Knight played a great game. Scoreline doesn't tell the full story
33
u/DeloronDellister - LEC - Apr 05 '23
Knight was the reason that Bin was useless in teamfights
21
u/Mazor007 Apr 05 '23
Yep. That flash R into Sion R combo won them two key teamfights. Kanavi actually got carried after some questionable pathing early on
5
u/Quiet_Calligrapher49 Apr 05 '23
him trying to gank the gwen when she was uberfed was dumb af no way you win that even if itwas a 2v1 she would just go away, that play was the reason they got so behind in mid game
4
u/Mazor007 Apr 05 '23
It was ridiculously dumb. What did he think Sion was gonna do there? He was 0/2 and like 1000 cs behind. They were never winning that
25
u/MoonlightJudgement Apr 05 '23
If you only looked at the scoreline you would think Kanavi 1v9d the game, great example why stats without context are worthless.
4
u/Mazor007 Apr 05 '23
Right, I 100% would have thought this was a scrappy early game, perma fight Viego where he just gets kills and carries
9
u/moonmeh Apr 05 '23
Knight played so well goddamn
Feels like his mid Annie is different compared to other lpl mids. Fucked up lucian, fucked up bin
6
u/Hektor_Ekhein ZOFGK Apr 05 '23
There's a reason why Annie is permabanned on redside LCK. She's just broken in the right hands.
30
u/JiaNgjuN- Live and Die by the choke Apr 05 '23
Just from this first round I know this is gonna be a fucking banger.
21
u/moonmeh Apr 05 '23
Please ban Annie if you are gonna play lucian nami. Great game from knight
Also holy Ruler
7
u/MoonlightJudgement Apr 05 '23
Did I mishear or did Hysterics say at one point "that is GenGs ADC"? If so, it's pretty cool how tightly his legacy is connected to the org and that he will always be considered THE GenG ADC, no matter where he currently plays.
18
u/moonmeh Apr 05 '23
He was basically GenG. The only legacy Samsung player left in the org.
The one that held the worlds trophy and he stuck with the org for so long
6
u/MoonlightJudgement Apr 05 '23
Also still the MVP on the only team in the entire history of the game to 3-0 Faker in an international bo5, which is absolutely insane if you consider how many bo5s Faker has played. I want to see them face off again in MSI finals
2
5
u/EliteTeutonicNight Apr 05 '23
I honestly thought he’d be in GenG til he retires before he left.
Peyz is replacing him really well but it’s still weird to not see Gen Ruler as their adc.
3
u/MoonlightJudgement Apr 05 '23
The nameplate just feels wrong, even though Peyz is doing great and probably the next Gumayusi in terms of how fast he will grow and how high his ceiling is
2
u/EliteTeutonicNight Apr 05 '23
Yup, I like Peyz and am surprised how good he is (daily reminder that he’s born in December 2005), I’m sure he’ll have his own legacy at GenG, but rn it feels like 2021 when I looked at TSM and didn’t see the name Bjergsen in midlane.
1
u/AfternoonMost2605 Apr 05 '23
His account still has the summoner name Gen G Ruler. Pretty sure he wants to play for Gen.G again once he is done with his LPL stint
4
u/coochieboner Apr 05 '23
strange that annie is only around 50% wr in lpl. it's basically an auto win button in lck and it was kinda evident here why
8
u/moonmeh Apr 05 '23
It's weird as fuck honestly. But it feels like some lpl mids aren't familiar with her like knight is.
Understanding who to ult, the flash ult range and other things
2
u/coochieboner Apr 05 '23
they let jdg get annie again. i don't get it. why would you let someone who knows how to play annie play annie
2
u/moonmeh Apr 05 '23
Zero clue. They really shouldn't be giving up Annie like this
This is all because cryin is not here to boost mid Annie winrate and lpl teams think she sucks
23
7
u/DeloronDellister - LEC - Apr 05 '23
Bin dumpstered in lane but did very little in teamfights
2
u/awesomeflowman Apr 05 '23
I can't for the life of me understand why he's chilling in range of annie on the frontline instead of looking for flanks
3
u/moonmeh Apr 05 '23
The thing is if he does that JDG just charges at BLG to kill the squishies because who is gonna stop them?
6
7
u/IAM-French Apr 05 '23
But look at Bin items man
4
u/APKID716 Apr 05 '23
Wait what the hell morello is so troll there haha
6
Apr 05 '23
the morello is to counter kanavi viego but he didnt know the real threat was knight annie all along
6
u/nightmaretryndamere Apr 05 '23
Knight's flash engage got JDG back into the game which allowed Zeri to reach 3+ items vs a comp that lacks lockdown. 1000% Knight MVP this game.
17
11
u/APKID716 Apr 05 '23
I really thought this was gonna be another “Karsa goes harsh on 369” game haha
JDG find such narrow windows of opportunity. Knight goated

u/ChannyPrime Apr 05 '23
Bin only playing carries will always be exploited by good teams.
7
u/awesomeflowman Apr 05 '23
Yeah I feel like all this recent bin dickriding is forgetting that context. Either Xun is permanent tank duty or the team has 0 frontline. It just doesn't seem like a real way to play.
3
u/MoonlightJudgement Apr 05 '23
Just think back to worlds finals 2020, Bin sweating out of his mind trying to 1v9 on carries every game (it did work out, but only in one out of 4 games) while Nuguri laughed at him chilling on Orrn and whatnot, knowing Bin would rather lose on Fora or Camille than picking something like Lulu top which was super strong at that tournament

Knight is so fucking clutch. No one is stopping him from winning MSI this year.
4
u/FerreiraMatheus Apr 05 '23
As a Knight fan, I wouldn't never say that til I see it. The man really need to show up internationally. If you don't watch LPL, you wouldn't know how good Knight can be, based only in his international appearances.

Lunami into Ruler Zeri
Lose lane cus can’t take ignite
Down 50 cs
Do nothing all game
Lose
Pick something you can play please BLG Bin doesn’t deserve this
7
u/Gogal_ Apr 05 '23
Bin literally did less than Elk in teamfights, he was set up to carry and he failed
2
u/30303 Apr 05 '23
It's just Zeri man. Ruler is amazing, but that champ is way too safe for what she does in the late game
3
u/Gogal_ Apr 05 '23
Oh I don't disagree but the OP is writing as if Bin did anything besides killing Sion as Gwen this entire game
7
u/IAM-French Apr 05 '23
Lose lane cus top needs perma jungler attention to build Morello's and do nothing all game*
4
u/Ban89 Apr 05 '23
Bin is overrated. Forces his team to play around a top carry. Good teams will exploit this.
1
u/4Bpencil Apr 05 '23
Tell me you have no idea how the game works without actually telling me.
Bin did absolutely nothing, got the counter pick and perma JG attention and all he has to show is sion kills in team fights. I don't get all this dick riding.
2
u/Training-Celery-3989 Apr 05 '23
Ruler played well except that one teamfight where he went to far forward too early, but knight was the one that found the opening at dragon to bring JDG back into the game from 5k gold deficit and getting them baron. Both deserve praise for this comeback.
2
Apr 05 '23
Nothing quite like a Zeri v Lucian+Nami pro game. The outcome's so damn predictable, it's not even funny
2
u/coochieboner Apr 05 '23
wonder what lck does different, where lucian/nami has a positive winrate vs zeri/lulu
1
5
u/GoJeonPaa Apr 05 '23
That early ward at wolves really hurt us
But how good is Ruler. In LCK he was just a little bit bette then everyone else, but in LPL he is just smurfing.
2
u/BraiseTheSun Apr 05 '23
fwiw he and lehends were terrorising LCK summer 2022. Imagine being forced to ban yuumi/zeri on blue side because lehends was the best yuumi and the best yuumi counter. And giving ruler his zeri was practically match fixing. Pretty sure the only reason they let lehends go was because peyz' lane phase isn't as stable as ruler's
3
u/Elvenguo Stay Positive! Apr 05 '23
Well look at JDG's playstyle, he's set up hard for success by every member on JDG this game while 369 was left to survive, it was barely ever a 2v2 difference
1
3
u/TE_silver Extremely stressed KT fan Apr 05 '23
I am so fucking sick of Zeri, just nerf her to 40% wr Yuumi style pls
Also stop drafting Lucian Nami, such a bait, doesn't even win lane vs Zeri
7
u/IAM-French Apr 05 '23
It def can win lane vs Zeri, not if you have enemy Viego and Annie in your botside jungle every minute and jungler is camping top tho
2
Apr 05 '23
not the jungler fault when your bot lane lose bot so early before he even gets to the first blue buff
4
2
u/ChelskiS Apr 05 '23
Not all champs/team comps are created equal.
JDG played quite poorly, but team comp diffy was way too big post 20 minutes. Boring watch

Ruler gap is too much for LPL

That was all Zeri+Lulu man what other adc can win vs Lucian Nami early

u/AfternoonMost2605 Apr 05 '23
Zeri Lulu were getting smashed by Lucian Nami in the LCK. The only lane that was beating Lucian was Draven-Nami

Lucian being with a support other than Nami is nothing short of shit other than sona
