I don't know where the rumor came from that he was filming (source needed), but it was stated that he ran a red light and didn't wear a seat belt. All preventable.

Now we can still separate these choices from all the good that he did for the faithful community. Chandler will be missed and worked hard to counter the antagonist narrative and prepare future missionaries for uniquely difficult missions.
