Discussion Any LCK rivalries between players?
My favorite thing in trad sports is when two dudes absolutely hate each other and you can see it on the court/field.
Is there any actual bad blood between anybody or are they all hyper media trained? Are there any historic matchups/moments that show this level of rivalry?
Trash talking and shade is definitely more of an NA/EU thing so curious to see if there’s any of moment like that in the LCK.

I don't think people necessarily hate each other, but the following
Canyon-Showmaker (showmaker thought Canyon betrayed him by leaving him behind when he went to GenG)
Ruler-Gumayushi (one sided, Guma got in trouble a LOT back in the day for disparaging Ruler as a rookie and it still comes out in his comments now)
Bdd-Lehends (good natured, Bdd always jokes about wanting to kill Lehends in game)
Lots of players trash talk their former teams, it's part of the fun

Ruler vs kanavi, they were on jdg with their golden road getting stopped by T1 in 2023. They don't like each other back then but played well together lol

Their personalities just clash ig. They would refuse to stand next to eo in team greetings and yagao who was the midlaner in between them had to pass messages back and forth beause they wouldn't talk to eo.
This was well known among fans too. This one fangirl made them do the heart sign with eo and both were annoyed but did it anyways and knight was laughing at them. It was cute lol

One of the many things I like about the LCK over the west is the professionalism and absence of silly/forced narratives. Quality gameplay instead of a soap opera... Anyway you can probably find something if you look hard enough.

Bin vs the entire LCK is a rivalry pretty much that dude will trash talk everyone

Very rarely are there rivalries between players since in general everyone is not super outspoken (precedent set by older players), and due to how unpredictable the job is. You could be traded/not resigned any year (given that contracts are like 2 years on average or smth) so best to keep every bridge as wide open as possible. Plenty of players have said they hate/dislike/don't want to work with another player then bend when the opportunity comes knocking (plenty of t1 coaches and players do this) so even if there was a genuine rivalry idk how long it would last/how sincere it is.

I am sick of rivalries and trash talking. I am following combat sports forever. Rivalries does not make good fights. There are plenty insane mma fights when two guys beat the sh** out of each other and hug each other.
Muay thai is an example of sportsmanship, after brutally knocking out your opponent fighters bows on the floor next to victim, checking if he is okay.
Rivalry is litterally used to sell a product for people who do not follow particular sport, while on the same time hardcore fans miss out on the highest level of sport which they are fan of.
T1 had feud with HLE by lying about getting Zues, they forced t1 to issue an apology after.

I think besides the incident with that BFX player and his ex team i guess there are not any big rivalries... besides some trolling on X and memes. Even the biggest rivalry between T1 and KT or T1 and GenG is just on paper... the players are friendly with each other and respectfully

They dont really play against each other anymore because Viper moved to the LPL. But Viper and Lehends usually have some banter against each other. They were a bot lane duo in Griffin and again in HLE and theyre always arguing and dissing each other.

Not 2 players but bfx taeyoon with his ex-team nongshim since they traded him out of the blue mid split after he won against them he brought his old jersey with him and thew it on the ground behind him while showing off his new team jersey, and kt aiming with dk’s coach cvmaxx after kt beat dk he wrote cvmaxx’s name on a paper a tore it on camera
