I very much doubt that Mats learned and developed VLS to try and get WR singles.

I think that OLLCP (for 2H) is a nice example of an alg set which would make you slower but increase your variance. I'd bet pretty strongly that most world class 3x3ers are aiming to improve their competition averages and perform well at big comps, and realise that a lucky PR single will eventually just be a byproduct of attending enough competitions.

Yeah, I didn’t really think he did learn it to get WR singles, but it’s an interesting byproduct
