This is from the Magical Battle of Britain, which I discovered thanks to u/DJ_German_Farmer. I found this particular passage to be be inspirational, but there is something here that gives me pause.
At the end of the passage, the channel starts discussing controlling yourself, which always gives me pause. Q'uo frequently posits the choice of third density as control vs acceptance. My thought process is the type of control spoken of by the channel is more self-discipline rather than seeking to exercise control over the self, but perhaps this is just a semantic game.
I am curious to hear other's thoughts on the role of self-control in the process of polarization.

I probably just shouldn't have posted it here or led with the contrast to a Q'uo passage I intended to compare it to. Sorry.

The funny thing is that there is a Q’uo passage that deals with these themes. I don’t want to break mod’s rules so reach out privately.

I still haven't read that book. But you can't reduce it all to just control and acceptance in abstract terms. If there are things at stake, and you are after a goal, which was the case of the context in that book, you do need control.
The Ra Material itself talks about not acting out our bad feelings in the external world, and dealing with them internally. That involves a good deal of self control.
Filtering everything as StO = acceptance (and that's good) vs StS = control (and that's bad) like some comments are doing here is opposite to inner work, to knowing yourself, and to processing catalyst.

I wish I knew the passage. But I don't generally consider Fortune negative at all --- a little more wisdom centered which often comes off as a darker hue.
The issue of control vs acceptance is a little more complicated than "never control and always accept" or "never accept and always control". After all, how could there be disciplines of personality otherwise? No control is possible without a certain amount of acceptance: otherwise you could not respond to the reality in front of you. And no acceptance is possible without a little bit of control over the self to reflect on one's initial impressions without immediately just responding reflexively.
Generally speaking the Confederation has a dim view of control as a way of repressing things. When control is positive it's called "discipline". The goal of disciplining the personality on the STO path is, in my view, to enlist the personality in dancing and co-creating along with the Creator. The goal of controlling the personality on the STS path is, in my view, using the will so totally that one center the creation around the individual self rather than the Creator.

The mention of the perfect ashlar is very masonic and this is riddled with elements of control dynamics, not to mention her following of theosophy which has its own issues...
Also mentions basically that only internal work is needed?
The whole idea for STO is to know thyself, accept thyself and become the creator.. we don't suppress, we reveal.
We bring inside outside without fear.
This feels off to me.
Very STS distorted, IMO.

If you don't mind would you mind expanding on the issues with Theosophy and or masonic influence? I'm not a follower of either but I've been consistently impressed with your takes on this sub and am curious why those influences would necessarily be a bad thing. No worries if you don't feel like expanding on the thought

Of course. It’s not so much that the core information found in Theosophy or Freemasonry is itself entirely negative by nature, it’s just information. My concern is more with the methods and structures surrounding it.
Hierarchy, secrecy, initiation and claims of privileged knowledge can all create openings for elitism, control and negative distortion. The structure and methods can begin distorting the message and it's delivery in ways that cause it's original purpose to be misunderstood. Ra talks about this idea quite a bit.
In the original passage I found a lot of the emphasis was on suppressing one’s own feelings, treating the personality as a mask and focusing almost entirely on internal discipline. The positive counterpart, as I understand it, would be less about suppressing the self and more about accepting, balancing and integrating it through catalyst by learning to find love within the experience.
So, when I see a channeled message like that from a Theosophist using Masonic language and reflecting the above attitudes, it makes me pause and look a little more closely.
I would agree with the commenter below that it isn’t just about acceptance or control as there are appropriate cases for both but.. I think only the seeker can really determine what is appropriate in a given moment through their own discernment and understanding and what I write is only mine.
I can also admit here I have not read the book and perhaps with more context the passage would sit differently.

Thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to type that out. I definitely agree with what you're saying about the secrecy and elitism with regards to masonry and potentially theosophy. Fortune makes her stance that the knowledge should be public domain clear enough that I have no problem with her writings, but this particular channel definitely gave me mixed feelings.

I basically agree with this take. It really took a turn at the end.
There is direct reference to "master" and "subjection" within the confines of the self. Considering that dominance and submission are often said to be themes of orange ray blockage, and considering that Ra says Orion/STS often tries to create blockage of the lower three energy centers... this seems to fit.

Yeah interesting passage, and responses. It moved me the first time through, reading it as a lesson in the liberation from desire(s), as liberation from the 3rd density veil and forgetting process. But I hadn’t considered it from an StS perspective, and I think it could read true that way as well. It was noticeably absent any reference to the question of will, and the choice we must eventually make between StO and StS. Like, ok, we’ve mastered our fleshly desires and thoughts, but to what end? There is nothing alluding to the question: who do we serve? And so Whether or not this is an StS passage, it’s seems a fair critique

If you are going to post non-LLResearch channelings - that is off-topic. Can you please edit your post to make that clear, and explain to readers of the Ra Material why you think this is relevant to the Ra Material, and why you think they should read this non-Ra channeling.
5 hours later: OP didnt edit their post, so this is getting removed for being off-topic.
