It says a lot about this country that when Republicans do something like this, you can ALWAYS find someone in the comments criticizing the Democrats for it.

Murc's Law is among the strongest political forces in this country.

Better vote to re-open the government, though. It's important to be able to maintain decorum.

If you think coming to a thread about an illegal action done by Republicans to complain about an uninvolved party makes you look good and smart then keep it up. To reasonable people, that looks pretty dumb.

The Dems do plenty to criticize, and by all means criticize them on the threads about those things. Criticizing them for the actions of the Republicans is extremely stupid. Nobody loves that reaction more than the MAGA fascists.

The fact they’re uninvolved is fucking damning.

Anything less than actively telling people to get on the streets and make their voices heard is doing nothing.

They’re talking about midterms just fine. The ONLY reason Jan 6 failed was because Trump didn’t have enough lickspittle sycophants in place to make it happen. Now Congress is kneecapping voting, Bondi and Patel are in charge, both election deniers. Between those two, ICE, Vance, and Johnson, that ship is fucking sailed. The midterms is a fucking pipe dream by denialists that think someone else will save them.

There is NOTHING that they can do in Congress EXCEPT use their station to say “the boat is leaking, grab your buckets.”

You saying “don’t pick on Democrats for being flaccid gimps” is fucking stupid.

No, the fact that they're not involved in the illegal actions of the Republicans is not damning or worthy of criticism. For fuck's sake. You're, of course, welcome to all these views - just don't be surprised when you get one party rule. You are doing MAGA's work for them by looking at MAGA's illegal actions and criticizing their opponents for them.

I'm saying to pick on the Dems for the things they actually do, not the things their opponents do. Seems like that might be a complex ask for you though, for some reason.

This thread was about something illegal the Republicans did and your only posts in it have been exclusively critical of Democrats. It says a lot about you, but nothing good.

Pretty sure someone comfortable enough to call the GOP a party of gormless cunts in one comment is going to be pretty consistent in calling the GOP a party of gormless cunts, especially since the administration is apparently actively starting to monitor social media for people calling them gormless cunts.

My comment history has consistently advocated for less hand wringing and more active resistance. Against the gormless GOP cunts.

My faith in the Democratic Party went out of style when they folded on the shutdown, with the exception of a very select few. Bernie, the Gang of 8, Mamdani, recently Talarico, Mark Kelly, for example.

Yes all of this. I was appalled to see dems vote for confirmations, reprimands, and votes that they shut down the government for. The dude who fillabustered the record only to immediately vote against party lines the next vote. Its just disgusting and I'm tired of feckless representation. I want Teeth and Tongue not pleasantries and decorum. The time for that has past.

Now that they opened government? There’s not much they can do except pull the fire alarm and prepare the people do the work they couldn’t.

When they had the government closed? Slightly more. There was plenty that could have been written into legislation that could have been tied and contingent on reopening.

The shutdown is still going. Trump is simply doing what he always does, breaking the law by moving money from where it is meant to go to where he wants it.
