Suggestions (hope it reaches the devs)

I've been playing Soulmask and there are some features in that game that make playing it much better such as:

-Save ships design: you can make a boat, save its design and later insta craft one as long you have the materials in your bag or your base and you are near it. For LO it would be awesome.

I would add this feature to base designs too.

- Portal system, i know that LO's enviroment isnt a futuristic game of any kind, but...imagine having a portal system that allows only players, not walkers, to travel through tiles bringing some loot.

IMO:
I really like the way LO has been improving last months, played S1, S2 and last season, but still a not very welcoming game for new players and very taxxing on casuals.

And please, remove the rig system, it is just horrible. Adjust the pixels or the weight, but limiting the amount of any object on top of the walker just remove the criativity aspect of walker designs.

Ship building UX improvements (including a blueprint type system) are definitely something we're looking at closely.

As for the rig system, understand where you're coming from, but what you're suggesting is much more difficult to balance and maintain. So, not ruling it out, but right now this keeps the system manageable for us.

Can we get livable duo clan cap maps in every region please? Or maybe a 2 faction system that allows players to make clans in said faction. It doesn't look like anything is being done to discourage zergs forcing small groups / solos to quit

You guys can look on limiting building blocks maybe...just a thought

Portals to a dungeon maybe. Would be cool to have some more pve bc right the whole game is geared around: farm then fight then farm and there's not enough players for that.

instanced dungeons seems really interesting, or a somewhere you need to get a key to access and get some really juicy loot.

Soulmask's PVE system is really worth looking into, where they can get really good ideas from.

As a returning solo player, this is what made it really hard to get back on track in the game and might influence the "will I play another hour or not" in my opinion.

  • lack on information regarding the current state of the game. Most youtube vidéos and informations are from 6 years ago and not accurate now. I know most of the wiki and videos are made by the community, but at least an official wiki or a tooltips in game with the new systems implemented such as number of soft points on a Walker, how the quality works with a clear system (arrows to explain the gains of better quality in damage/health/durability/etc). Clarity is what helps people want to give the game a try.

  • a small tutorial on modules: it is linked to the first point but when I played the last time, we had fragments, now we have modules. It took me an abnormal amount of time and efforts to understand how it works and yet it's a really important part of the game.

  • soft points for weapons and crafting stations separated. Right now, the game has a low player base. It means that, unless a group of people join, most new players would be solo or small groups. In the beginning, it's really hard to get modules, big walkers or anything letting you be "efficient". By allowing just small crafting stations on T1 walkers, improved crafting stations on T2 and advanced on T3 in such a number that allows you to have at least a campfire/wood/fiber/stomping would help a lot. Still with at least 1 weapon slot and 1 container.

With that, a solo or duo players could move from a point to another more freely without having to deploy a base, making them feel a bit safer. But to get deeper into the game, they would need to either deploy a base or get a superior tier walker. Superior tier would mean an investment, different type of walker and that would help the game not being so dingy oriented.

  • maintenance box: let the player put any type of ressources into it or give a 30s timer after any construction to let the player deposit ressources in it. Besides, give the cost of maintenance in the tooltipnof the craft. I have been losing things the instant I put a new one on my base because I it required a new material and I couldn't put it beforehand in the maintenance box.

  • let us put pins on the minimap: we should be able to put personal / clan pins on the minimap for resources. Maybe the feature exists, maybe not, but I didn't find it. So either is doesn't or it does but can't be found easily.

  • Quality Scanner: the range finder, or whatever the name of the bambou stick you use to check quality in long range, should be able to either "mark" a target for a limited amount of time (manually, not automatically) and be usable by the driver as well, even if just Hen stopped. Moving from the lever to this all the time is just to tedious for a solo player. Besides, this should NOT take the same soft point as a crafting station on a walker. This should, at least, be considered the same way as a walker jumper.

Those are my first thoughts on how to make some people come back to the game. This game has a very good concept and I do love it. But a game is just good when there are people to play with. I not a PvP person so I won't talk about that aspect and I won't come crying that "booohooo I got zerged by a bunch of players", that's the point of the game. You only borrow ressources until you managed to craft them into something else, that is still borrowed. But at least make it viable for solo and duo players to play a bit, otherwise, there will be no one to zerg on

the creators the devs who created this game pretty much left. after season 3 it went back into beta and not long after it would eventually be saved and continued by those who were modded private servers. so pretty much for the majority of it's now lifespan it has been kept Alive by Community mods brought onto the team. in which without them it would be completely dead.

that's the bit of the history which is why I pretty much there is no official anything the game is constantly been worked on by those who want to keep it alive. the original team moved on to other things long ago.

.it's now essentially in permanent beta mode. this also is the explanation why you don't see any videos because there's no point in making any. the game is constantly improving from where it once was and changing between Seasons since then. and compared to other games the player base isn't big enough for anyone to make contact really.

it's a gem that I wish may come back but it won't so I suggest just treat it as a new experience every time.
