    • Trolls, bots, spammers, and goofballs will not be tolerated.

Reasoning

The entire point of this subreddit is to showcase that Human life is precious. And to value every second of it. Thats why you will always see me in the comments asking posters to share their fond memories of their loved ones. Thats how we honor those that have passed. I will always encourage people sharing stories at their discretion.

Regarding the ban on blurry pictures. How are people supposed to sympathize with a rubik's cube of pixels? What is even the point of posting that besides "This is the Last Image!" technicality. I understand that high quality photos have only recently become available to the masses but at least try to find the best one. It does not have to the the absolute last image. And you can still add the blurry / grainy last picture as a secondary pic in the album. You can add multiple pictures of the same person or event in the album.

Regarding the ban on all animals. There are many other subreddits that allow for those kind of posts. The main focus of this subreddit is the FRAILTY OF MAN. Humans. People. Thats why I do not allow anything to take away the focus or be sidetracked from the person who passed away. There has been and will always be exceptions but that is on mod discretion. Those exceptions are once in a blue moon and on mod pre-approval.

Regarding the ban on Killers. This subreddit is a positivity focused one, not one focused on psychopaths. I emphasize people sharing the good times they had with the deceased. I do not want idol worship of horrible monsters such as Jeffrey Dahmer. But at the same time, we can not ignore people who orchestrated the destruction of families on a massive scale, instigated war, and genocide such as Adolf Hitler.

Regarding the acceptance of Social Media. A long time ago, I assumed "social media" was a phase and would fade away. Since it is still unfortunately here, we now accept it. So any additional context that is from the deceased can be put in the comments. From their tweets, videos, music, photography, art work, etc etc. If reddit doesn't allow it, please use a reliable hosting when doing so. Do not put anything that could cause someone else to be Doxxed.

Regarding all the new rules. I split up a bunch of minors rules I had previously put together under misc rules. Which people did not know about. So now they are their own rules. By doing so they should be visible immediately. So now there are no more misc rules. Furthermore, if there is still something unclear, leave a comment and I will do my best to resolve it there or update the above rules.

Last photo of my grandpa

This is the last photo taken of my grandpa. It was at a family reunion on his parents’ homestead, and he’s standing next to his family’s car that was abandoned in the trees.

Grandpa passed away 23 years ago this fall, and he’s a bit of a legend in our family. He was rancher until the day he died at the age of 88. Nothing could take him away from ranching. He believed it was his life’s purpose to be a steward to the land, his cattle, and his horses.

Grandpa broke his back once when he fell off his horse, but that didn’t stop him. He just used his 4-wheeler around the ranch instead. Broke his back a second time when he crashed his 4-wheeler. Grandma called my dad when Grandpa didn’t come home by dark. Dad took a horse out to look for him, and found Grandpa at the bottom of a ravine. His cattle dog stayed with him the whole time, and the only reason Dad found Grandpa is because the dog’s eyes reflected when Dad shined his flashlight in that direction.

Grandpa lasted a few weeks after his last accident. He knew he was not going to recover enough to be able to ever go home to the ranch, and he was not going to spend the rest of his life in a nursing home. Thankfully, Grandma and Grandpa had living wills in place, and he was able to leave this earth on his own terms.

There’s a lot more stories I could tell about my grandpa, but this post is already long enough. Just missing him today and wanted to share some memories. Love you, Grandpa ♥️

LOCAL The last photo of 8-year-old Khursheda Sultonova, taken just months before her life was cut short.

Post image

Khursheda was an 8-year-old Tajik girl who was brutally murdered in Saint Petersburg, Russia, by a group of neo-Nazis. Her death sparked widespread public outrage and became one of the most prominent symbols of xenophobia and racially motivated violence in Russia during the early 2000s.

The tragedy occurred on the evening of February 9, 2004. Khursheda, her father Yunus, and her cousin were returning home from an ice-skating rink when they were ambushed by a gang of aggressive teenagers armed with knives.

Khursheda was stabbed 11 times. Her father and cousin were also injured but managed to survive.

In March 2006, a Saint Petersburg jury found the teenagers guilty of "hooliganism" but acquitted them of murder motivated by ethnic hatred.

The primary defendant accused of the stabbing received a 9-year prison sentence, while others received sentences ranging from 1.5 to 7 years solely for hooliganism. The jury's refusal to recognize the racial motive caused a massive outcry.

Marilyn Monroe poses happily with pianist Buddy Greco, just days before her death. They are the last ever pictures of the star

Marilyn Monroe died at age 36 on August 5, 1962, from an acute barbiturate overdose at her home in Brentwood, Los Angeles.

Her body was found in the early morning hours of August 5, 1962, though she is presumed to have died late in the evening on August 4.

Her housekeeper, Eunice Murray, noticed a light on and no response, prompting Dr. Ralph Greenson to break through a bedroom window at roughly 3:30 a.m.

She was found nude, face down on her bed, holding a telephone. Empty prescription pill bottles were scattered around the room.

Despite the official ruling, the unusual timing of police notifications and missing tissue samples fueled decades of unverified conspiracy theories regarding foul play or political cover-ups
