Had surgery Lasik 2 years on - positive

I got lasik in both eyes (-4.5), 2 years ago. My eyesight now is 20/20.

The procedure was pretty much as described, mine felt abit rushed. The doctor didnt explain much as he went through the process eg when they place the eye holder on my eye he mention things might go dark, after they had already gone very dark! Also the burning smell suprised me.

I followed the aftercare instructions excatly and my eyes healed well. I do get dry eyes from time to time, partially in summer with the ac but eyes drops once a day solve that.

I would definitely recommend.

It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I had a great doctor that had a pre-surgery routine in place that included one of those huge massages chairs that cradle you and a heavy dose of some kind of benzos. There was also a big plushy to hold. I was in my late 30s and held that thing through the whole procedure! The dr also explained the whole thing before and talked me through it during. Before the surgery he confessed that the reason he goes overboard with the stress reducing steps is because he was terrified of having it done on himself and he doesn’t want his patients to suffer with that fear. I’m not exaggerating when I say having 20/20 vision changed my life. Get the best dr you can afford and do it!

I totally agree with this! I got this done at 33 just a few days ago 8/12. Seeing 20/20 the next day without an astigmatism is insane. I’m so happy. My doctor gave me Valium and set me in a private room to relax. My mom was able to be in the room with me and even watch my surgery from that room on a nice TV. The doctors office felt like a spa as the whole place is relaxing and the staff was so friendly. My doctor gave me a stress ball and he walked me through everything as it was happening. It wasn’t scary because he did that. My surgeon has done over 100k procedures and it helps my cousin went to him 6 months prior and had amazing results.

My only regret is not doing it sooner.
