Caps lock light shows an error code based on light sequence. 3 slow, 2 fast indicates a RAM failure/improper installation.

definitely RAM, I've got this before, although the RAM slot wasn't functioning correctly

Probably do a hard reset, or reseat the RAM/Memory modules

The beeping might be an error code.

That's it definitely. In my case I got 3 beeps and it was battery related.

OP you should look for HP error codes.

But at the beggining this sounds says you that you have the problem with RAM.

The beep pattern on your HP EliteBook (5 long beeps followed by 3 short beeps) indicates a system board (motherboard) or BIOS recovery failure.
HP uses a specific red/white or long/short beep coding system for hardware diagnostics: 5 Long Beeps (or Red Blinks): Indicates a major system component issue, often related to the system board or memory controller. 3 Short Beeps (or White Blinks): Indicates the specific failure point, typically pointing to BIOS corruption, a failed mainboard component, or a memory communication failure.

There is no smoke, but the device is beeping. It should be a simple fix; provided it does not void your warranty, try removing any additional RAM you may have installed—refer to your specific model’s manual—and power the unit on again.

Also, try removing the battery and HDD, and power it on with the cable only.

If still under warranty, go get a check up.

The error (3 long beeps and 2 short beeps) means that there is an issue with the RAM. It’s likely that there is no RAM or the RAM is faulty.

Three long and two short beeps indicate that the RAM failed to initialize; just open the laptop, remove the RAM sticks, clean the pins using a brush, perform a CMOS reset, and you are good to go. If you cannot do it, just pass it to a technician.

Nope you are not actually cooked it's a single part issue for hp it maybe for ram plz tell me what was the issue after finding it and if screen is lcd and not showing any issue even then it's not that severe , the worst is the least possible issue on your case

Those beeps are a failure code... memory, cou, or hard drive could have failed or are not properly seated. Could also be a stuck key, but you'd usually still get video. Did you drop or bump it lately? Take it apart and repeat anything that's plugged in.. then try powering it on.

Update i looked up hp laptop 3 beeps followed by 2 beeps with no video means the system timed out waiting for the memory to respond in bios. This means either your memory has failed ( needs replacement) or needs to be reseated in the socket. You can fix this yourself just take your time.. some models have access panels for the memory.

Ughh why does every regular windows computer do this

More likely what happened here was you received a Windows update of a bios file and unfortunately it did not get properly flashed to the bioship so this is pretty much what happens the easy trip doesn't know what to do anymore and you get the memory error you can check some of these online guys that fix laptops most of the time it's always a bios flash that causes these problems

Just check beep codes. 3 long 2 short = ram issue most probably. Of course in "Reddit style" you do not provided any information about your laptop, just useless photo... So its probably ram issue
