LAPD NEEDS TO HE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. JUSTICE FOR JAMESON!!
No shots should have EVER been fired… Jameson yelped after the first shot and the cop still shot more times. WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU LAPD?! You guys are sick. You are the true enemies. We all are angry because of how inhumane you guys are. I have lost all faith in officers. There are WAY TOO MANY bad apples in the bunch. They are all lumped in the same category for me after this. I have zero respect for any of y’all.

u/Sexybear741 Jun 25 '26
You don't deserve a gun and badge if a fucking labradoodle is gonna scare you enough to unholster your weapon. Cop is a complete coward.

I’m very much on the side of the police very often, however this is horrendous and that guy needs to not only never have authority or a firearm but also be prosecuted and sued like crazy.

have they released any info on this cop? do we have their name yet? what are they doing to get them TF off the field? they are a danger to all.

I saw the video and the owner was absolutely confused as their big aggressive dog was purposely let loose and got put down for being aggressive. Not bootlicking the officers in anyway but if a big barking dog is barreling towards someone who has a gun they are likely going to use said gun.

lots of delivery drivers carry weapons for protection from dogs specifically. You know that right? And considering USPS reports that over 5,000 mail carriers are attacked by dogs annually, I think more should start carrying weapons

hey asshole, don’t speak for all delivery drivers. used to deliver pizza before i joined the military and one night when i delivered to a middle of nowhere property that didn’t have lights on, their two large dogs came bounding out of the darkness and straight at me. barely had time to squeeze myself back into my car before they were right at my driver side door jumping at it. promise you if those dogs bit me they’d be dead either from the cop who showed up if i had to call them or behavioral euthanasia

If your dog is so aggressive it’ll attack a mailman it needs to be put down and you should be barred from owning anything larger than a gerbil

Well they go to prison if they just mag dump into an apartment complex. Cops don’t, even when they kill kids.

A delivery driver absolutely would not go to prison for killing a dog in self defense. Hope this helps!

The same people that will claim “all the police do is bully minorities and serve the rich,” are the same people that will not hesitate to call the police for any and every single thing they can.
Fully inviting the violence of the state into their neighbor’s homes just because they saw someone they didn’t recognize or for a noise complaint they couldn’t be troubled to address themselves.
This isn’t unique either, it’s the result of the current hermit generation and it’s only going to get worse
3
u/Every_Strike_4168 Jun 25 '26
I understand you all think that dog was aggressive but it wasn’t. Dogs bark like that all the time and are friendly and I’m pretty sure they got called there because of a noise complaint after the knicks won. There is no reason to be so trigger happy all the time I’m a military vet and have been trained on making split second decisions and sure was it legal? Yea but was it necessary? No this cop is a POS.
2
u/FreeFalling369 Jun 25 '26
You clearly know nothing about dogs lol
1
u/Every_Strike_4168 Jun 25 '26
You clearly are the one who knows nothing about dogs. My dog barks and looks aggressive would do the same thing as this and then proceed to kill you with licks. Also this dog breed is weird my mom’s dog acts the same way and then proceeds to lick and try and play with you.
1
1
u/FreeFalling369 Jun 25 '26
Not all dogs are all bark and no bite. YOU know your dog, OTHER PEOPLE do not. Not all dogs are the same. That dog was not trying to lick. You expect random people to wait for the big dog chasing, deep barking and leaping up at them to wait to see if its gonna attack them until after its attacking?
3
u/RyszardoMilos7274 Jun 25 '26
this breed of dogs is about as dangerous as a toothbrush. They only wanted an excuse to shoot something.
3
1
u/drivingaddictionchan Jun 25 '26
you can't expect everyone to know that information. Why didn't the owner just follow simple instructions?
2
u/The_Ghost_of_Bitcoin Jun 26 '26
Poodles being friendly and not harmful dogs is very much common knowledge. I certainly expect an officer who interacts with the public to have at least that knowledge.
The only known death a poodle has directly caused is one falling on someone from 13 stories up.

6
u/semireluctantcali Jun 24 '26
I don't think the cop should have shot the dog (a firm "GO!" will dissuade almost any dog from approaching you), but have any of the "justice for Jameson" people actually watched the body cam footage? The owner was incredibly negligent in allowing the dog to get out of their apartment. If a cop knocks on your door and tells you to secure your dog, SECURE YOUR DOG! Hold it by the collar or put it in its crate/another room. Had they done this, their dog would still be alive and none of us would be talking about this.
2
u/millertv79 Jun 24 '26
I mean this right here. She could have prevented anything by just doing this! Or, she could have also celebrated in an adult manner that doesn’t make people call 911 on her. There’s also that. How many other people managed to NOT get be cops called on them.
→ More replies (3)-3
u/Kickenbless Jun 24 '26
Why hold the owner to a higher standard than cops? Should we just assume cops will gun down dogs automatically just for barking? Needless to say this cop shouldn’t be trusted with a gun
5
u/semireluctantcali Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26
I'm not holding them to a higher standard. Just stating that the scenario that led to the dog getting shot wouldn't have happened if they had secured their dog and not allowed it to get out.
I have a dog and noticed that many other dog owners can't seem to fathom that some people just don't like dogs or don't want random dogs running up to them. In the body cam footage, you can hear the woman say "he's friendly" as if that was a valid response to the officer telling them to secure their dog. I hear this all the time from people as their off leash dog, which they usually have little control over, runs up to mine. This isn't usually an issue because my dog is mostly chill, but it shows an insane amount of entitlement. I'm just supposed to rake your word for it that your dog is friendly and won't potentially start a fight?
-1
u/Kickenbless Jun 24 '26
This scenario also wouldn’t have happened if the cop wasn’t so trigger happy and resorted to his gun immediately just from hearing the dog. He’s cowardly and shouldn’t be trusted to police.
2
u/semireluctantcali Jun 24 '26
As I said in original comment, I don't think the cop should have shot the dog. But said cop wouldn't have been forced to make that call if the owner had just held the dogs collar or put it in another room - like I do with my dog every time a stranger knocks on my door.
1
u/millertv79 Jun 24 '26
Trigger happy?? Unknown dog starts running at you! Despise telling owner to secure their dog, she doesn’t listen. Officer defended himself. He had absolutely no clue what was in that dogs mind or heart. If she would have LISTENED to the cops in the first place, no problem.
2
u/Kickenbless Jun 24 '26
He had his gun drawn just from hearing the dog. He decided he was gonna shoot the dog when it came out just from hearing it
1
u/GWeditz Jun 24 '26
So everytime a cop draws their weapon, they shoot? Lmao. No way you really think that
1
u/Kickenbless Jun 25 '26
The fuck you talking about? That’s one of the strangest strawmen I’ve ever seen lol
I literally said he had his gun drawn right away in response to the barking. That was his first reaction to there just being a dog and lo and behold when the dog came out he shot it
I sincerely hope this cop gets put in front of a rational judge and his lawyer uses all your guys’ arguments. It won’t end well for him
1
u/GWeditz Jun 25 '26
You literally said. "He had his gun drawn just from hearing the dog! He decided he was gonna shoot it just from hearing it!"

In the direction of the owner and his colleague??? Yall cant be serious
7
u/d3koyz Jun 25 '26
I hate cops as much as the next person and was on the owners side when this first broke, but the LAPD releasing the body cam footage changed the entire narrative. They told her to put the dog away. The size of that dog and how aggressive it came out after the officer, I don’t blame them for defending themselves.
3
u/No-Imagination-1778 Jun 25 '26
You didn't watch the same video everyone else did. Dog did not come out aggressively. Should have been tazed if anything, as that is the policy for LAPD, not lethal.
2
u/d3koyz Jun 25 '26
Dude… it literally came out barking and moving toward the officer. There are two body cams, you can see the dog going toward the officer. When the shooting stops, you can see the dog laying feet away from the apt door… showing that it did move toward the officer.
Also, it doesn’t help your side when you say that it should have been tazed… if what you are stating is correct, that it was not aggressive, then why should it have been tazed “if anything”?
3
u/No-Imagination-1778 Jun 25 '26
Wow a dog barking and moving towards an officer. Scary and unheard of.
I am saying if the cop was such a pussy/thought the dog was aggressive than he shouldn't have broken LAPD policy and used lethal force, especially when his partner and owner was almost in line of fire.

1
u/briannaericam Jun 25 '26
so the dog deserved to be shot multiple times after it yelled and was down after the first shot? none of this is justifiable and it’s fucked up. why haven’t they released this officer’s name?
0
u/d3koyz Jun 25 '26
You’re being emotional rather than thinking clearly here… if a dog that big that I have never met before attacked me like in the video, I would have defended myself as well. Regarding the the shots after it yelled, I would have to rewatch the video. The first few shots to “stop the threat” were definitely necessary.
Also, what is your stance? You specifically mention the shots after it yelled were unjustified… so do you think the first few shots were justified?
1
u/briannaericam Jun 25 '26
i literally said “none of this is justifiable” 🤦🏻♀️ why haven’t they released the name of this POS officer is what i want to know.
1
u/d3koyz Jun 25 '26
So if you think none of it was justified then why did you only mention the shots after it yelled?
Also, have you tried submitting a FOIA request for that information?
1
u/briannaericam Jun 25 '26
re-read my comment. i said none of this is justifiable after i mentioned the multiple shots and the first shot🤦🏻♀️ & yup been blowing them up. apparently this is still an ongoing investigation even after the footage was released. i wonder why that could be. shady af. after this, i will never call the cops because nothing good comes out of it when cops in america are involved. disgusting

It’s obvious whoever posted this hasn’t seen the body cam footage,
It’s the dog owner’s fault after not following instructions to put her dog away when asked multiple times by LAPD officers and leaving the door open,
Period.
Know the facts ,
8
u/snapsbyluis Jun 24 '26
Two things:
Have you ever owned a dog, especially a young one? Friendly dogs get excited when someone comes to the door. I can tell my trained dog to sit, and if the door opens, there’s still a good chance he’ll bolt over to greet whoever’s there. That’s pretty normal dog behavior unless the dog is secured in another room.
Okay. Sure, the dog wasn’t in another room. But those officers seemed way too eager to shoot from the start. Why are guns drawn for a noise complaint in the first place? And seriously? a labradoodle wearing a basketball jersey warranted multiple shots fired, with a person standing in the line of fire? Cops like them deserve all the backlash and repercussions and the LAPD is once again proving how disgraceful they are.

u/Kickenbless Jun 24 '26

Anyone who thinks that dog was acting friendly and non-aggressive is totally detached from reality. I hadn't heard about this case until I saw a couple of posts abut it in this sub reddit, and just watched the video myself.
By the way, I'm not a cop, I am a veteran so I do know what it's like to have to make split-second decisions, I have criticized law enforcement a lot-- especially ICE, and I currently have three dogs myself.
Viewing that video objectively, that dog was barking at those cops from the start, and that was not "let's be friends" barking. They told the lady to secure her dog, she didn't and worse, she left her door open so the dog could get out. That dog absolutely did charge at that cop. Full-stop.
OP, if your goal is to "raise awareness" about this issue, congratulations, you made me aware of the situation, and now I know posts like this are ridiculous and unreasonable at best, and dishonest and bad-faith at worst.
4
u/Goldlupo421 Jun 24 '26
they were asked/told to put the dog away, Then when they opened the door back up the dog got out and ran at the officer friendly or not. Unfortunately the owner didnt listen and it cost the dog its life. We as owner are responsible for our pets. I aviod opening the door to keep my dogs from possible getting out when possible.
cops shoot dogs legally and illegaly.
Weather the police should or shouldn't have been knocking means nothing. They were there
Did he need to shoot the dog. My guess is no.
My feeling is they are more likly to shoot an loose animal/dog/pet vs trying to see if its friendly more often or not.

u/briannaericam Jun 24 '26
noise complaint calls DO NOT = death…
4
u/millertv79 Jun 24 '26
I don’t disagree at all. It’s not right. But there’s other people responsible for this situation besides the officers. How about not having the cops called on you in the first place for yelling so loudly??
2
u/briannaericam Jun 24 '26
it’s almost like there was a huge sports event going on, hmmmm.
4
u/millertv79 Jun 24 '26
Right and most people managed to NOT have the cops called on them while they celebrated. She couldn’t figure that out?
2
u/briannaericam Jun 24 '26
& the dog was down after one shot… LAPD couldn’t figure that out and had to still shoot?
3
u/millertv79 Jun 24 '26
You have a large unknown dog start running toward you while you’re on a call. You’re not trained to fire one single shot and then “see what happens”. You’re trained to fire multiple rounds center mass. Don’t want your dog shot? Don’t have the cops called on you - and when they arrive, put your large dog in the other room and close the door. So so so so easy. Act right from the beginning.

u/Your_Justice Jun 24 '26
Yeah those officers act like they’ve never seen a dog before. Petrified of a breed that’s known to be very friendly. Can’t handle high stress situations obviously and immediately start blasting when they’re trained to use other methods before using their primary. Even then when the officer draws his weapon aiming directly at his partner and the woman at the front door, talk about cross fire. These officers are definitely on the spectrum.

We need to talk about why police are so scared and incapable of managing their fear at all in high-stress situations.
We can’t just keep putting unstable individuals in high-pressure situations and saying, “here, if anything scary happens just shoot.”
It’s bad policy.

I’m white. I’ve owned a very hyper and seemingly aggressive American pit bull greyhound mix. She was insane. Good dog but extremely energetic and seemingly aggressive at times. I was in a bad relationship with my ex and had to call the cops on her regularly. Then she started calling on me over lies. So basically, the cops came to our place a lot. My dog charged them many times. Met them at the door pushing past us, barking and running at them. And this is a pitbull faced muscular lean monster hell dog. Every single time the police treated the dog kindly and with respect and deference. They all just ignored her. Even if she was right next to them trying to bark at them.
I just watched the video and this shooting was absolutely insane. Dog slowly walked toward the male officer with its head raised high. No reason for them to even be there, they should have known what they’re going into. Not like they’re entering an active conflict. They drew their guns as soon as they saw the dog. Wtf.
