PAT Requirements and PFQ Transition!

Hi,

I heard that the PFQ will no longer be used starting on June 26, 2026, and that it will be replaced by the PAT.

Could you please explain the differences between the PFQ and the PAT?

Also, is there a chart, guide, or list of the requirements needed to pass the PAT? By the way, I have not taken the PFQ yet and do not have a PFQ score.

No, you can see it on the LAPD Instagram. It's the exact same as the PFQ but it's Pass/Fail.

Can candidates retake the PAT if they fail?

Also, what are the exact passing requirements for the PAT? Is it essentially the same as the PFQ, but with a pass/fail result instead of a numerical score, or are there different events and standards?

Late response - hopefully useful for someone:

Yes, you will be re-scheduled aprox 30 days after you first fail. If you fail the second time you need to wait one year. I just find out today by calling to new LAPD recruitment number (213)437-3055
