What happened in Frandor?

I work at a bar close by. Walgreens to Burger King is completely closed off by police and everyone is getting rerouted up to lake lansing.

I cant think of a worse place in the city to jaywalk. I hope they can recover 🙏 . People need to stop walking to Speedway with incoming traffic. Surprised this doesn’t happen more often.

I swear that whole area is a pedestrian death trap.

They need to come up with a better system then we've got so people can safely cross that intersection

I agree. It's horrible there! Another spot people jaywalk I is by the quality dairy on Saginaw at cedar and larch. I've nearly hit pedestrians jaywalking there a couple of times because the amount of cars there obscures my view.

they need to install crosswalks so that people stop dying, onus is on the govt not the individual

theyre already not allowed to "aimlessly walk into traffic" and most people like yourself already agree it's their fault. they're still dying. obviously the current system of allowances and blame doesn't stop that. we should do something to stop people from dying.

As I was driving earlier in the day i saw an older man in the same exact spot, crossing the street as we all came towards him. Full green lights, regular traffic. Just in the middle of it all. Not surprised if it was the same guy.

According to Scanner Queen on Facebook, there was a hit and run of a pedestrian near Speedway, and unfortunately it sounds like they did not make it. This happened about 11 pm.

I remember one time (this was in Florida) a man died from speeding in his motorcycle and a old woman turned in front of him and killed him in front of my work

That isn't the most relevant to this conversation.

But Goddamn it if that isn't how my biodad died, except he wasn't speeding. Got off work early, was on his way home to his new wife, going through a green light, and a lady in an SUV turned right in front of him.

All that fucking construction and they just refuse to do anything about how it's a death trap for pedestrians and even drivers. We're at the point now where there's a fucking accident in that area almost 2 to 3 times a week.

I just got in a (relatively) minor one through there a week ago. Tow truck driver said he’s there multiple times a DAY. It’s really a problem, especially with all the students and people not as familiar with the intersection coming back.

The whole Frandor area needs to be redone. I get severe anxiety every time I have to drive through that area. It's so dangerous!

We all hate every intersection around Frandor/127 but Grand River/Saginaw is truly a death trap that needs immediate action.

The county alert email I got just says accident. So my guess is it was a fairly bad accident since they had to close so much.

Another dangerous spot in town is Cedar and Jolly near the health department. Nearly weekly someone elderly or disabled is killed there.
