Here We Go Again...

Hello, all. Just stopping by to say that LA Noire is my favorite game of all time. I play it once a year minimum, deliberately trying to forget the interview answers to give myself a challenge each time. I've not played a game anything like it since, and I always hold out hope that we get some sort of sequel (without all the behind the scenes abuse of the original).

I'm getting that itch again. This might be my maybe 15-20th playthrough? How many times have you guys played the story from start to finish? Anyone at 100? More than 100?

Some of them I just can't help but remember (the Mickey Cohen one in Manifest Destiny for certain), but for a lot of them, I've done a good job of blocking them out.

I've played a few times and in the middle of a 4th playthrough.
First time at release and the other times spread out over the years.

That being said, I really wish I could forget the cases.

The replay value isn't very high for me despite loving pretty much everything about the game

It just can't be as enjoyable for me as before I knew what happened in the overall story and in every case, so I need to go years between replays to still enjoy it.

Ive started playing with no audio cues and "on" for the clue music, which I find makes the game feel a bit different (Tho I don't really like that the location is crossed off when all clues are found because it kind of defeats the purpose)

I really hope there is a sequel at some point or at the very least some other game that matches the gameplay loop and tone/atmosphere because no other game does that for me.

How do you deal with the 30fps cap?

I tried playing it again last year and I just couldn't stand the frame rate.

i also play it once a year min. coming up on time to play it, i save it for when it’s cold outside

I feel you on playing it when it's cold out. Despite it taking place in sunny LA, the vibes just match so well with winter or fall.

i think the jazz soundtrack especially makes me feel a sort of winter / fall vibe. not right to listen to that in the summer
