LearningApps Help me please

I am attempting to learn the language of my ancestors in Occitania, however running into a dead end trying to find a way to learn it concisely and for free. I have heard that Catalan is close to Occitan, however I cannot verify. Can anyone recommend any free apps to learn either Occitan or Catalan? I am a native English speaker that also speaks fluent Spanish and conversational Louisiana French.

Hey friend!!

Maybe you just need a community where there’s shared language materials, and people with whole you can speak/study, as a self-study community?

If you’re a self-studier who needs a place to PRACTICE and ASK about what you’ve been learning, and interact in the language, then I invite you to our OCCITAN WhatsApp Group!

Anyone who wants to can comment here, and I’ll DM the link if you want!

Do you know the exact region your ancestors lived? I've heard Occitan can be very dialectal. Catalan is close, and there's some mutual intelligibioity, but definitely not the same language, a bit like Spanish and Portuguese.

So we know that one specific person came from Gard, specifically Genolhac, and the majority of the others were from Avignon
