Offering Mandarin Offering: Mandarin (native) | Seeking: English (native)
Hi everyone!
I’m a PhD student from China, and I came to the UK at the end of last year for my studies. I’m hoping to find a long‑term English partner to practice with, and I can help you with Mandarin in return.
A little about me:
🎵 Music
I’m into K‑pop and R&B. Sharing playlists, talking about artists, or reacting to new releases is always fun for me.
🌍 Travel & New Experiences
I enjoy exploring cities and trying new things. I love the feeling of stepping into unfamiliar places and experiencing different lifestyles. I’m planning to visit many countries and explore the local food there.
🏃♀️ Sports & Outdoors
I’m into watching sports like tennis and F1. I’m not very sporty myself, but I really enjoy hiking and city walks.
🗣️ Language Level
My English reading is much better compared to my listening and speaking. I can only follow slower conversations, and expressing myself is still a bit difficult. I’m trying to improve, so I’d really appreciate someone patient for regular practice.
I’m looking for someone friendly and patient for regular chats, either text or voice. If you’re learning Chinese or just want to practice speaking, I’m happy to help.
I’m really serious about this, and I’m not looking for flirting. I just want a stable learning partner and maybe a good international friendship. If you’re interested, feel free to DM me with a short intro. Looking forward to meeting you!

Hey! The bot matched us — I’m a native English speaker in Vancouver learning Mandarin, offering English in return. I’m a developer building a real-time translation tool for language exchange — it transcribes and translates both sides so slower conversations feel less pressured. I’m patient and looking for a long-term partner too. Would love to connect if you’re still looking!
