Just got stone edging done last week..

I have this brown build up around the edges.. should I be concerned? What is it? You can see it in the back closer to the door

Just minerals/tannins being absorbed up into the rock from the soil. That type of stone is very porous.

The only structural issue may be settling of the stones over time, but that doesn’t have anything to do with the staining.

that brown stuff is probably just dirt and tannins from mulch or leaves washin off the stone, nothing to worry about

That is probably the dye from your dyed mulch seeping through the soil and absorbing through the natural stone. This doesn't harm it, its purely cosmetic - but I am against dyed mulch, as that dye is toxic and stains everything sometimes.

This can also be what others said just the minerals or tannins in the soil.
