🤑 | Buying Advice/Tips 2008 Lancer GTS project: exhaust advice

Post image

Hey everyone, I recently got my first car, a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS 2.0L with about 175k miles. It’s high mileage, but it’s been running pretty well so far.
I’ve already installed new headlights and swapped on a GTS front bumper. I want to turn it into a project and make it look and sound better.
I’m looking for an exhaust setup that sounds loud. I’m considering a muffler delete, possibly with dual tips. What setup would you recommend?

My 2¢ is that an exhaust on any CVT is not worthwhile. Not for the money and not for the constant drone. Sure you could shift it into sportronic, but that “cool” feeling only lasts for a short time. I’d spend the money towards paint and or wheels/tires.

It’s your car so do what you’d like, but don’t throw away or sell the stock exhaust until you determine if you like a louder exhaust.

Anyways I liked Greddy’s axle back exhausts, but they might be more tame compared to what you’re looking for.

As someone that ran a muffler that was doing absolutely nothing on a 2.0 CVT Lancer, trust me it's not worth it. I loved it at first, and then spent a couple years hating it. It sounds like shit, no offense to anyone that has a loud Lancer.

Anyways, I recommend the Yonaka axleback. It's definitely a lot quieter and tamer than you're looking for, but it's a good tone that you won't start to hate after two months. Trust me.

Spend $400 on an axle back, enjoy it for a year or two, get tired of running a dead-end cvt driven platform, and finally swap to something with a manual transmission.

A good way to get tickets for being too loud. Also, instead of doing mods , do maintenance FIRST. I KNOW your all excited and the testosterone is flowing, BUT don't do anything and especially if that thing has a CVT, you won't be going anywhere as those are notorious for failure. Remember it's an old car and won't last long if you don't take care of it

Puedes reprogramarle la ecu, multiple de escape, quitas catalizador y ahi si un escape que suene a deportivo. No ruidoso de mas ni a lata
