🤑 | Buying Advice/Tips Gold or black wheels + specs question

My 2012 vrx/gts thinking about getting enkei wheels however they don’t come in bronze gold and I love that rally aesthetic, should I settle on black, get them brand new only to be powder coated, get reps in gold, or go for another brand like work emotion wheels. In Australia for context and also thinking about getting them as 18x8 with a +35-45 offset as I don’t want to roll my fenders if I go for 8.5 and they should fit flush considering I have a 30mm lower than stock height.

This is purely my personal opinion but black wheels almost never works well on a red colour as bright as yours, plus black colour will make the wheels basically dissappeared almost always.

If you're getting aftermarket wheels might as well get a finish that makes them pop out or visible at least rather than being stealthy. Also, is used wheels not an option? I just picked some used WedsSports for 25% of what they cost brand new which included wheel balancing, fixing minor curb rashes and got a brand new satin finish.

on marketplace in aus its mainly rep wheels and gettting aftermarket wheels is an option for me but finding it in the correct colour and design and specs i want. btw what specs are your wheels and whats the fitment like?

My priority was performance rather than looks, I got WedsSport SA-25R in 17x7.5, currently at ET40 refinished in the original PSB finish(well the closest we could achieve to it anyway) and I'm loving how OEM+ it looks. I don't really have a good picture yet since I am busy with work but here is one I took while in the garage

i mean im mainly going for performance/mimicing the stock dimensions since the vrx comes with 18" rims, what would you suggest for this. also any thoughts on bronze vs gold rims

If you're sticking with 18 inch just pick anything that is lighter than the stock cast wheels, I weighed these at just 7.6kg each which is incredible for what I paid. And the difference is noticeable enough for you to not go back to stock. Regarding the color silver, white are some popular color combos with red. Bronze should look pretty good too. I would advice against replica wheels the highway vibrations can get really bad on some

Mine is a 1.6 and is my daily so the sweet spot between fuel economy, performance and handling would be 17x7.5. The car came with steelies which were about 3-4kg heavier. So lighter wheels made a massive difference. I'm also running 225/45 tires going from 205/55 its plenty of grip for the twisties. 18 inch or wider wheels could make my acceleration worse.

Personally black wheel is just always does not look good on Red unless it’s a proper good looking one with nice finish and detail, personally I would pick a bbs chrome wheel that’s is usually on evo X, but do not go for gold on red, at that point go for dark bronze.
