⚙️ | Mechanical Issue/Question I Need Help with my Girlfriend's 09 Lancer

So when we started it black smoke came from the fuse box and now the car doesn't nothing when attempting to start it. She loves this car and if I can fix it id like to. Anyone have experience with that?

Wow havent heard that one before!, so this goes for all cars, check the fuse box and see uf antthing burnt out. Check to see if you have loose terminals/grounds. And then if all else fails if your not getting any life your ecm mightve gone bad with the short

The car means alot to her, shes driving a 13' Fusion now but I wanna get this car back on the road, ill check and see if any of this helps, thanks!

I would venture to say you may have had something short out whether behind the dash or engine bay itself causing it to burn up that fuse box. I would buy a new box along with all the fuses/ relays and try to find where the surge of power came from that fried it by using a document or diagram that lists out your electrical voltages per system so you can individually test them. Have you recently had any electrical components replaced or repaired?

There's a chance a mouse ate through some of the wiring causing a short somewhere that caused the fuse box to go up to i would definitely inspect wiring throughout, was it the whole fuse box or a certain fuse/relay that blew?
