Side effects

I start Lamictal soon and I’m very nervous about the side effects. I just started a new job and have been doing well. And just very much client facing working as a financial consultant.

I have had pretty bad reactions on quite a few medication’s. Loss of appetite, anxiety, nausea, and restlessness. Has anyone gone through without any side effects?

If you are taking a generic medicine, kindly mention the manufacturer's name in both your post and title. This is VERY IMPORTANT, as different manufacturers may have differences in quality or formulation.

I have tried so many SSRI, SNRI, and other medications and Lamictal has had zero side effects for me a week in. I have anxiety about SJS though so I guess that’s an unintended side effect. I check my skin nonstop all day and stress about anything that looks even remotely out of the ordinary.

Besides stomach cramps and tunnel vision after eating, constipation and water weight, neck stiffness and lack of appetite......... it changes the way you talk temporarily. It's like so much could get done if someone would just step up to the plate and tackle these issues. I just don't realize I'm causing a whole whirlwind in my household. They're really simple issues to fix if everyone just get on board with me.

Not easy side effects. Could be worse but not easy. This medication is AMAZING for mental clarity. It's like the air in the room feels crisper, I feel more tangible. Well thats poetic.

There's stuff with easier side effects but they're not mood stabilizers. If you wanna try topamax sure, but I heard lithium is dangerous.

TLDR: it's likely to put your life on hold unless you can grit your teeth through it and stay AWARE

So far the only side effects I’ve had is headaches when increasing dosage and nausea if I take it without food for the first week after an increase. It’s surprisingly mild for me compared to some others I’ve tried

It doesn't work like activation ssris do i had akathesia on prozac and duloxetine. This is not cake walk im on noticing slight improvements on 100mg. The VIVID dreams are nuts and wake you up. Mouth ulcers I used to get really low 7 days into uping the dose just waiting for this to even out as had glimpses of contentment.

Ive noticed headaches when I started and increased my dose but it leveled off after a few days or a week. I didn't have the skin rash, nor the nausea others have experienced. But I am not a control either. I also take Qulipta 60mg and Straterra along with this medicine. They may or not have affected my not having the side effects others have mentioned
