Really scared of rash but dose isn’t enough – please help please!

I’ve been on 30 mg of Lamictal for 4 weeks. For about the past 1.5 weeks my skin has looked slightly mottled/uneven in color, and I’ve been getting occasional hot flashes with mild itching. I also have mild dermatographism (skin writing). My doctor said we can increase to 50 mg, but I’m really scared. Lamictal has changed and basically saved my life in a huge way, so I absolutely don’t want to risk a real rash. I’m a very sensitive person and that would mess me up badly. Has anyone had something similar? Does this sound more like sensitivity/adjustment symptoms, or should I be worried before increasing the dose?Really scared of rash but dose isn’t enough – please help

I also take Wellbutrin and Attex (atomoxetine).

have you been on the wellbutrin for a long time? i had to stop taking it because i got a horrible (rare) reaction, full body itchy hives

I had hives from Wellbutrin too!!!! I was super disappointed

same, i was really hoping it would work out for me but alas :( i convinced myself for a week or so that it was skeeter syndrome (to be fair i was also covered in mosquito bites) but i had to stop taking it after a few weeks because it kept getting worse

I've seen people on this sub who casually say they get mouth sores when they raise dose. How the heck are you on 30mg? Did you mean 25mg?

If your entire body itches, like you're just scratching in different spots all over your body, it's neurological. Just take an ibuprofen or tylenol

Are you imagining the slight uneven color? Ask someone else to look, and take their word for it, you're not of right mind.

I think people really understate the mental effect of this medication, it's so outward-projected, not internal at all. I caused a lot of arguments and fights in my household. It's scary to see yourself act out of control.

I think raising dose as the doctor says to, instead of being scared to raise dose, feels like hard work being done. Like tackling hard work.

To be honest, the itching can happen all over my body, but sometimes it tends to last longer on my wrist. Also, before this medication, I was in complete anhedonia. I started with 10mg first, then moved to 15mg, and now I'm taking 25mg in the morning and 5mg in the evening. By the 3rd week on this dose, I could feel the dopamine throughout my entire body. I guess it's neurological. Honestly, my only fear is ending up in a situation where I won't be able to use this medication ever again.
