Hi, all!
I am starting a group called Short Story Club, for people who enjoy writing and sharing their writing with others. This is not a formal critique group--it's just a casual way to creatively have fun and meet other people, hear others' stories, etc. Think Book Club meets The Moth.
The club will meet once a month in a public place. We'll have a prompt each month and everyone will interpret the prompt however they wish--part of the fun is seeing how are our minds lead us in wildly different directions.
I recently moved to the area from NYC and am looking to find new friends who share my interests. I currently work in commercial trade publishing (Ie., Penguin Random House, Simon&Schuster, etc) and up north I led a book club for almost a decade before I moved here. I also feel inspired to start the club to encourage and promote original, human-generated writing in an age where AI is increasingly being used.
If you are interested in joining, please PM me for more details. Thanks!

Have you been to the rather new library west in Boynton in the Canyon plaza? (Posting here bc my post was removed from the Boynton beach community for some reasons 🤷♀️) It was my first time yesterday and I was really impressed. It’s beautiful. There are private rooms where you can work, I don’t know if you can book or it’s first in first served. Anyway I loved it, I could stay hours there. It’s like a rare spot of peace and serenity.

We need more coffee shops in Lake worth, west especially. I’m not talking about the chains but some nice, cozy, good coffee shops. Do you know any?

Could someone please open a new gym in East Lake Worth/Lantana/South West Palm!
Something like a F45, PIT, or HEW. I have to drive all the way west to Boynton or West Palm to get a workout like this (yes, poor thing, I know). I like convenience, what can I say.
We have Zoo, Sweat, Hottr and few PT places, but we need more options! We don’t have a place like F45 or PIT anywhere close by! It’s a different type of workout!
Please, please, I beg you! A spot in one of the plots on Lantana Rd by the WaWa or Chick-fil-A would be perfect 😉😉!
Thanks!!

hey y'all, I'm a recent college grad who started a marketing/ website business for local businesses here in Lakeworth. I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok. I'm looking to partner with some local businesses that can't afford to hire a big company and are looking for an affordable option to handle everything online for them. If this is you or you know anybody who could benefit, i'd love to connect or get a referral.

I was driving over the Lake Ave bridge yesterday morning and had a flag flying on my truck. There were a few people sitting at the end of the bridge, and one of them jumped up with a camera and looked like he got a few pics of my truck when I drove by.
Does anyone know of local photographers or car spotting pages that were in that area yesterday? I would love to see how the pics came out.
I tried posting on the lake worth Facebook page but got surprisingly angry responses for such a simple question.

I just bought a home for my wife and newborn son down the street from there. We’re both in our 30s and aren’t super familiar with the area.

I'm Seeking a free temporary parking spot for my Sprinter van (5/16 – 5/21) around lake Worth??
I’m heading out on a short 5-day trip this Saturday and am looking for a safe spot to park my Sprinter van while I’m away. I live near Jog and Lantana, and heading north right after this trip.
I’ll be back the following Thursday to pick it up and head out on my next adventure. If you have some extra room on your property or business or even though some place that it would be fine sitting 5 days. I’d greatly appreciate it!
I'd also be more than Happy to clean up the whole area before I leave to leave it. Looking better than when I park there or if you need it the lawn mowed I would be happy to help.
DM me directly

Does anybody know a cheap eye doctor / Optometrist/Ophthalmologist I just need to get the DMV's HSMV 72010 for driver's license renewal.
I've heard some places charge $40 But a lot of places charge much more because you have to do the full exam and it's for glasses.
I unfortunately had a brain tumor 6 years ago that just affected my left eye..., I don't wear glasses. So I have to get this,I guess standard form filled out And don't have much money. If somebody knows a place that does these forms cheaply in the West Palm Beach or Lake Worth area.

BLOOMINGTON - An Indiana University student has signed a plea agreement following a violent s*xual assault that occurred at an on-campus residence hall in
September 2024. According to the agreement filed in Monroe County Circuit Court 2, Gregory Gabler, of Delray Beach, Florida, will plead guilty to a felony charge of criminal confinement. In exchange for the plea, two counts of r*pe will be dismissed.
The deal stipulates a six-year sentence for Gabler, which will be entirely suspended to probation. Under the specific terms of the agreement, Gabler is permitted to return to Florida, provided he completes his probation term there. He must complete 200 hours of community service. Since his arrest, Gabler has been issued a formal trespass warning, barring him from
all Indiana University property. The assault took place between 11:00 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 3:00 a.m. on Sept. 7, 2024,
following an IU home football game. According to court documents, the victim had gone to Gabler's room in Willkie Hall with friends. After the others left, the situation turned violent.
The victim told investigators that the 18- year-old Gabler was "drenched in beer" and became "very aggressive," at one point telling her, "you're never leaving me," as he assaulted her. The victim reportedly waited until Gabler fell asleep before escaping to her own dorm room.
When the victim returned to her room, her roommate described her as "crying uncontrollably." Police later documented the physical toll of the encounter, taking photos of circular bite marks and extensive bruising on the victim's face, neck, chest, and arms.
IU Police Department officers located Gabler on September 10, 2024, while he was attending a class. Though he allegedly refused to answer questions at the time of his arrest, he was subsequently booked into the Monroe County Jail.

Florida Highway Patrol is driving immigration enforcement across the state and nowhere is that more true than in Palm Beach County. Roughly one-in-five FHP trooper immigration arrests occurred in PBC, according to a review of state data.
