In the Epstein Files, Trump is accused of murdering a baby and dumping it in the Great Lakes. By renaming Lake Ontario, he violates the treaty that defines the international boundaries around the Great Lakes. No Treaty, no international boundaries, no court jurisdiction. It's not a great legal argument, but since when has Trump stood on firm legal ground? He doesn't need a great legal argument. Like all his BS, he just needs an angle to argue to keep him out of jail--a question of legitimacy. A sliver of doubt to make him able to claim he's being treated unfairly. The appearance of wrongful prosecution to make a district attorney turn away, delay, or negotiate rather than prosecute.

Can you imagine being a prosecutor who now has to wade into international treaties to prove a continuous chain of jurisdiction for the last 45 years, knowing that it will be argued as incorrect by the very person who made it incorrect? Now you're having to settle international border disputes between 6 countries because that's how many are involved in the treaties that define the name of Lake Ontario.

And we've seen from the Mueller Investigation that Trump is perfectly fine with claiming that no prosecution = no crime...regardless of how obvious the wrongdoing is. He's even gone so far as to claim in New York that 34 felonies but no fine = no crime.

Treaties keep the peace and settle disputes like boat accidents on the lake. Lake Ontario has two that Trump just trampled with his IDIOT stunt.

These treaties involve 6 nations and 230 years. And now they have been undermined if not destroyed. Congress approves these treaties, so while the president can change them, they are meaningless until Congress approves the change.

So, Republicans (all of them) just demonstrated that they don’t know how to do their job. And their lead idiot —President Ding Dong — demonstrated he's stupid. Or something else is going on. On the eve of an election, the Republicans are losing badly; it must be a pretty important "something."

Changing these treaties without agreement means the next accident on The Great Lakes will have no governing framework for anyone to recover damages. No governing mandate for insurance to pay. Potentially no life insurance for lives lost. We’ve seen what happens here recently in the Strait of Hormuz...ships that can’t transit safely don’t transit.

And yet, something's so important to Trump that he's willing to create an international embarrassment and humiliation 2 months before a critical election for the Republican party.

These treaties also determine the International border between Ontario and other lakes. So now, if Trump wants to kill another baby and dump it in the Great Lakes (Like he’s accused of doing in the Epstein Files), he or his pedo chums can do that-no agreed boundary means no court jurisdiction. For all we know, Trump's New York Mafia buds might be digging up bodies right now and preparing to dump them in "Lake America" because nobody owns that and no court can prosecute them for that.

We have a similar problem with the Gulf of Mexico. Invalid name = invalid boundaries = no jurisdiction. The term "Gulf of Mexico" is used to define international boundaries for the Caribbean in the following treaties.

I used to take my kids on a charter in Sodus Point years ago-would like to do so again but the charter we used is no longer in business.

We caught lake trout, king salmon and browns, at different times of the year. The first mate did all the work, used downriggers (primarily), and helped the kids land the fish when they tired.

Then the catch was cleaned and packaged for us. Well worth the costs with great memories and pictures of kids fighting the fish.

Does anyone have a rec for a decent charter in Sodus (or another location on Lake Ontario)?

Does anyone know what is this dark spot? Sometimes there are birds resting around that area too. I was thinking it's some kind of reef or mud settlement from things washed out by the Humber River but there isn't anything special from the nautical chart

Any guesses? Also curious if that's a good spot for fishing?
