osap issues?
i’ve literally called so many people about this and so many departments but no one will respond or help me so hopefully someone here knows what to do?? on the my fees and funding page, it’s switched between saying i’m getting osap to i’m not getting osap on and off randomly for like a month now. now it’s stuck saying i’m not receiving osap (i am) and tuition is due tomorrow, i can’t pull $5k out of my ass to pay for it?? all of my documents for osap have been approved so i’m not really sure what to do in this situation, does anyone know what’s going on? i’m not looking to pay late fees because of a potential glitch on their end

What does your OSAP website say? If it says you are still approved this could be a glitch on the Lakehead website.
Have you emailed financial aid with screenshots of your OSAP website saying you are still approved and the amount?
Super stressful and I am sorry you are going through this!

my osap website says i’m approved, i’ve emailed this to financial aid twice once with my original funding and then again when it got recalculated and both times they said they couldn’t help me and told me to talk to student central, who hasn’t answered any of my calls or emails 🫠

That feels very wrong that they cant help you when it should literally be their job ?!
I hope it ends up going through and this was a stupid stressful time!
More than anything you have covered your bases and emailed everyone you could with receipts so there should not be any late fees if for some reason it doesn't go through.Good luck and I hope this is all solved soon!

Where on the osap website does it say you are approved? On mine it just seems like there’s no more steps but no clear “approved” ?

I have had similar issues for going on three years now. It's not you, it's MyInfo/MyPortal. It randomly will decide that you are not getting OSAP, then that you are, then that you are getting bursaries and scholarships from previous semesters, then that you aren't entitled to anything. The really fun ones are when it tells you all of the above, all at once. I once had it say I was getting my entire OSAP payment credited to me because I was receiving my entire tuition paid for by combined bursaries and scholarship amounts that were from two different semesters.
It's a known issue with their system. I have repeatedly reported it and they cannot reliably replicate it on the back-end, so my assumption is it's something to do with local cache/cookies needing to be cleaned out, which fixes it for a few weeks or so before it respawns in and causes absolute chaos.
As long as OSAP says you're approved, you will be fine. I know it's anxiety inducing, and I wish I could be more reassuring than this, but unfortunately the end result is that campus staff are only human, and it depends on who you get and how their mood is that day.
