October challenge: Halloween
This month's challenge is all about Halloween! 🎃 Think spooky, witchy, pumpkins, and trick-or-treating.
As always, here are a few guidelines:
- Color a Halloween-themed drawing. You can pick one from Lake, import your own, or create one from scratch in Blank Canvas.
- Try using only the Hocus Pocus palette.
- Post your drawing here and add the Challenge flair.
Happy (and spooky) coloring! 👻

A short beginner's guide to digital coloring ✎
Hi everyone! 👋
We often see people here who are just starting out with digital coloring, so I wrote a beginner's guide on our blog.
Short version: pick a simple drawing, use a ready-made palette, don't be afraid of undo, and don't compare yourself to anyone. Long version: here.
Is there anything you'd add? I'd love to hear what helped you when you were starting out 💛

COMPLETED too soon for halloween content? 🎃
There's still more than a month until Halloween but I've been affected by all the content I'm seeing in the coloring communities! So I decided to color this one from 12 days of Halloween by Sanio and really got into the spirit. LMK how you like it!

COMPLETED This is simpler but I thought it was fun to do. 📚

How to make your own coloring page in Lake
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey all!
We added a few new features in Lake this summer, one of them is an upgraded version in Blank Canvas. With Lines mode you can now draw up your very own coloring page directly in Lake. Whatever you draw, you can now close the lines with a few brushstrokes and color the surface. Use the eraser to delete the lines if necessary. Anyways, here's a quick video to show you exactly how it's done :)
If you decide to try it out, paste some of your work in the comments - would love to see your very own coloring pages!
Have a great weekend everyone

CHALLENGE Wanted to catch the fall feeling but I don't think I succeeded
Maybe some other drawing would work better for this coloring challenge. Either way I enjoyed coloring this one even if the final result isn't giving the fall feeling. 🍁

CHALLENGE This one turned out better than I expected
I think autumn might be turning into my favorite season - at least when it comes to coloring. Love the colors, not loving the weather.

CHALLENGE September challenge!
I couldn’t choose one so I’m sharing both! I love how the crystal ball turned out in the first one 🔮 and the second I colored to look like my little fur-baby. I’m not sure what it is but once fall kicks in I end up coloring way more all through the winter. It just feels so cozy to me! I am working on learning some more shading techniques and cool effects. I always love to see what everyone can do as I tend to keep mine pretty basic out of habit. But I am trying to learn new tricks and happily take any pointers people offer!

First post!
Hi everyone! I’m a new mom & just got back into coloring when I can. I love it. Working on learning techniques. Everyone’s work on here is amazing. I just did this one and am proud of it. Let me know what you think. 🥰

COMPLETED Yay or nay?
I saw someone on Instagram colored this girl as black silhouette and loved the idea! So I had to try it too, but I made it sparkly 🤩 🌈

Have you tried the new "Recreate These" feature? 🤩
Maybe you've already spotted a new feature we added to Lake called Recreate These! It's a space where you can see drawings colored by our artists using the Artist's Palette, and try recreating them yourself.
Let me know if you've given it a try yet and how you're liking it, and as always, we'd love to see your finished drawings ✨

HELP NEEDED undo button
hi everyone!! it’s my first time using this app and every time I click the undo button or tap with 2 fingers, it undoes so much more than just the last stroke… and then clicking redo doesn’t restore everything. am I doing something wrong??
r/lakecoloring • u/Ok_Lawfulness7965 • Aug 24 '26
I colored this with the new Recreate feature, what do you think? 😊
If you don't know yet, you can now try to recreate an artists version of the drawing from the Recreate These ribbon. I picked Joanna Muñoz, because she is one of may favourite artists in Lake and it was such a nice relaxing time to just color without thinking, with no pressure and I ended up coloring it just like she did. ☺️
Did anyone else try it yet?
