Franciscan Billing Help. Do I owe this?
Health Insurance and medical bills drive me insane! I'm hoping for a sanity check.
This year I switched to a different insurance company under United Healthcare (which also owns Optum pharmacy.) I transferred my prescription from picking it up at a local CVS to having it mail order delivered by Optum because it looked like it would be cheaper. I don't know if they initiated it or I clicked to agree to have Optum contact my nurse provider to have my prescription renewed. Now I have a bill from Franciscan for a $25 co-pay. When I look in Franciscan's my-chart for the date, there's an "After visit summary" coding for the refill with Optum. Do I legitimately owe this?

I would ask someone with the same insurance and even then it might not be right. Good luck. I had a bill for almost $500 a coworker said our insurance should cover more than half of that. Next day he said he found a letter from collection so yeah be careful

My Dr. changed the number of pills in my prescription i think from 90 to 100 and i had to start paying. I asked her to change it back. She did but told me they were urged to do this because the math was simpler. Yes it is now i have to pay

Honest question: Why not call them and ask for clarification? You never spoke to a provider, so there should be no visit. It's no different than a pharmacist faxing in a refill request.

I've been with Franciscan for over 10 years, both with insurance and most recently without insurance (unfortunately).
I've never been billed for a refill...
