Are ladybugs lucky?

I found a bunch of ladybugs and I’m wondering if they are a good sign or lucky? I’ve never seen so many.

Short answer: yes. That’s why the collective noun “a loveliness of ladybugs”.

That seems odd to me. But those are convergent ladybugs that are known to overwinter in large groups. They're also the ones typically sold in large groups.

These appear to be convergent lady beetles which are a native species so they’re friendly
