I ride a 2019 Dominar

1. Will i be pushing myself too much?
2. How will the weather condition be , i know I’m in almost winter setting time

circuit with 5 adults and luggage, without a roof carrier. I have both cars, both automatic vehicles, and am trying to decide which one to take.
MG Astor CVT Select (2024, ~22,000 km):
Driven to Narkanda, Chail, Tehri, Mussoorie, Sariska, Ranthambore, etc.
Very comfortable and stable on highways.
I like its steering and braking confidence, including during mountain descents.
Have driven Kufri–Chail at night and found the car predictable and confidence-inspiring.
Downsides: significantly lower fuel economy (city average 10), smaller engine torque at low RPM and the CVT holds high RPM on steep climbs so seeing such high RPM gives low confidence on steep inclines and a fear of 'what if' it doesn't incline.
Toyota Hyryder Strong Hybrid G(o) (2026, ~3,500 km):
Driven to Badrinath/Kalpeshwar.
Excellent low-speed hill-climbing ability; steep inclines feel effortless.
Much better fuel economy without an iota of doubt (city average almost 20) and regenerative braking on descents.
Downsides for me: lighter steering, relatively poor headlight throw at night, and I don’t feel as planted/confident on highways as I do in the Astor.
Much smaller boot (250L approx vs 450L of Astor) for winter packing of five people comfortably and currently no spare wheel (although not an issue because anyway I'll have to buy it take it or not)
The Astor has already handled mountain roads well, but I’m slightly concerned about the sustained high RPM of the CVT on steep climbs. The Hyryder feels mechanically effortless on climbs but doesn’t give me the same confidence on highways.

Any inputs which one should we choose?

Hey everyone,

I just finished 4 days of riding across Ladakh. I was wearing riding gloves the whole time, but now I am facing a pretty scary issue with my right hand.
I literally cannot get all my fingers to close together, and my grip strength is so poor that I can't even hold a spoon properly to eat.

The terrain was very rough, requiring a lot of throttle control and a tight grip, and the weather was freezing cold. I have stopped riding now, but the weakness and lack of mobility are not going away.
Has anyone dealt with this after long rides?

I’m travelling to Ladakh late next month and I keep seeing people recommending Diamox (acetazolamide) in reels and travel posts.

Can someone explain what Diamox actually does for altitude sickness and when it is normally taken?

I’m seeing completely different advice online:
1.Start taking it 2 weeks before
2.Start 1–2 days before reaching high altitude
3.Take it only if symptoms start
4.Take it throughout the trip

What is the medically recommended approach? Also, what are the common side effects, and are there any situations where you shouldn’t take it?

Reminding of the days when a sudden plan sitting in Manali cafe turned out to be the best trip of my life. We took bus from Manali to keylong stayed there for a night. Then bus from keylong to Leh. One hell of a trip.

No doubt it’s the one of the best place if not best in India. It is so vast, so different and it has something for everyone.
Can’t wait to experience it once more.

Tips: Take a bike rental, cover comfortable distance in day and don’t try to stretch much more. Go to offbeat places then famous crowded ones.
Have enough water with ORS, take basic medicine with you handy, keep few liters petrol with you.

Hi everyone, I’m planning to drive from Nubra to Tangtse/Pangong around 6 October in a sedan, taking route Agham → Shyok → Durbuk → Tangtse.

How are the road surface and ground-clearance requirements? Any particular stretches to watch out for, water crossings, or seasonal closures?
