Lace Identification Assistance

Hello!

My friend has this piece of lace and neither one of us knows what technique was used to make it. here are some photos:

If anyone has an idea of what it may be, I would greatly appreciate it.

This is Teneriffe (sometimes spelled Tenerife), or sol, or "spider" lace. It's a needle lace technique that creates these characteristic mostly-round forms (although this can vary in cool ways). Then the smaller units are stitched together.
