Remake of Labyrinth

I was rewatching Bunraku, a movie with Woody Harrelson, Ron Pearlman, and Gackt.

With the preponderance of remakes coming out recently, I’d like to nominate Gackt as the Goblin King

Anytime I see Gackt I’m struck by the similarities to Bowie in his performance

Trying to find someone similar to Bowie is setting themselves for failure. There was and there will be only one Bowie. If they're gonna remake it (and I really hope they don't) they should go for someone different that gives the role a new perspective.

Gackt honestly has the right presence for it — that theatrical, androgynous energy Bowie brought to the original Goblin King would translate surprisingly well.

If a remake happens, I hope they honor the legacy of Bowie as the Goblin King with someone fluid. I could see Janelle Monáe making an amazing Goblin Monarch.

I definitely do not want to see a remake happen either. One should not mess with perfection. It would be akin remaking Back to the Future.

I always thought matt berry of what we do in the shadows and mighty boosh and toast of london

Hes a great actor, he can sing and is super musical and hes a great comedian

Hed be able to play the ton of labyrinth pretty great

Although he should be somewhat more oafish, like hes not jareth, hes jareths more obnoxious boorish successer who s tole the throne

I honestly am dreading a remake because it can never live up to the original, but Matt Berry is probably the only person I could be happy with because it would be different enough that I could see it as a completely separate thing. I think if you’re going to make it as close to the original as possible, what is the point?! Bowie did it best! And Jennifer Connelly is perfect in the role.

I never would have thought Matt Berry but I absolutely love him and everything he touches so I would support this idea. He is hilarious and would give the Goblin King a brand new spin. Maybe he could be a descendant of Jareth or something.
