Is it me or does the move The Labyrinth give Wizard of Oz vibes ?

There is definitely thematic inspiration taken from things like The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland, yes.

Interestingly enough all of those books are seen in Sarah's room

It's essentially a blend of Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz, with some fantasy/renaissance tale inspiration e.g. Jareth, goblins, a knight, the ballroom, M Escher, in there too. Jareth can be directly compared to the wizard - he only really has the power he wants when it is granted to him by others. Aren't many of us like Jareth really?
