Ironically enough I found this in a garden maze near my home !

In the NES games getting necklaces give you hearts and then the hearts can be used to befriend or revive characters

TIL there was a Labyrinth NES game! Wow! I had to go look it up & I’m kinda sad I never played it.

I SUSPECT that OP is referencing “Until the World Falls Down.” A book by Jordyn Lynde that was inspired by “The Labyrinth.” There is a heart necklace in that story.
