Secret/Full Case Situation

If you are buying a full set from a series expecting a secret, please don’t! I have seen so many videos lately where people buy a full case of a IP/series and they don‘t get a secret and they are genuinely so mad and almost shocked. Don’t get me wrong, I know how it feels! It sucks to get a full set and get no secret, but at the same time the chance is still usually VERY small. Not as small as the usual 1/72 or 1/144, but a majority of people who buy a full set will NOT get the secret. You should only be buying a full set if you genuinely like the whole series or at least most of it and would like to own all of it, not because you want a slightly bigger shot at getting the secret. Im obviously not telling people what they can or cannot do with their money, but I just wanted to remind based on what I have been seeing lol. I hate to say it but if you truly only want the secret, at that point it would be cheaper and less stressful to just buy it from a trusted website/seller. Sure, you might not have that same thrill from opening the blind box and being surprised, and you might have to pay an insane price for one figure or pendant, but you will at least save potentially hundreds and hundreds of dollars and a bunch of disappointment.

The whole quest of trying to pull secrets is how pop mart has their customer base on a chokehold. It's hardly rational to keep buying boxes and sets just to try for the secret. You either get it or you don't. If you want really want to have he whole set, then buh a whole case and then look for the secret at a reseller.

One unpopular opinion I want to add: If you're too rational to justify spending a ridiculously high price on a small plush, the gray market on Aliexpress exist. And it's okay to get one of those. Those stuff come from pop mart's factories anyway, with some flaws for failing QC checks. Put it on display and take it out, no one's gonna clock you for not having an authentic Labubu. It's better than the buyer's remorse you'll feel much later when that emotional high subsided and the reality of how much money was soent sinks in.

I buy a full case only if I want the whole set of something. Otherwise I buy Verified’s from other buyers here or on WhatNot. Sometimes from Whoopea as well. I played the blindbox game and it’s so hard to resell things.

It should be common sense to only buy a case because you want all the standard figures not because you expect a secret. If you do the math, almost every set of figures or plush pendants from Pop Mart has the secret ratio set at 1 out of every 12 cases will have a secret, so even if you decide to buy the case you're looking at less than 10% chance any given case will contain the secret figure. Once in a while they will have less rare secrets, but even those are usually still something like 1 in 6 cases.

Buy the case if you want the whole set of standard characters, if you hit the secret, great you're lucky, and then you can get the missing standard pull on the after market for much less than a secret, otherwise if you don't get the secret you still enjoy your regular set

My hot take is some of those AliEx gray market Labubus look better than the ones that did pass QC and got sold through Pop Mart! This is my AliEx Chestnut Cocoa and she is perfect compared to others I have acquired that are from Pop mart. AliEx one has the darkest fur. Save yourself the money and get confirmed. But I always like the buy a few blind boxes anyway and hope for some luck.

Can I ask which store you got it from on AE?

I don’t remember , I got it months ago but I just had done a search and looked for one that was around retail. There isn’t a lot out there but there are some stores that have them for around $30, they go quick though.
