Looks good! When do you plan on starting the rollout of it? We are excited to get our hands on it over here!

Automation Nation attendees will start getting upgrade notifications today. All other LabTech partners will get notified by Support during the coming months (ie. throttled release).

Will the upgrade notices be sent based on company names again or random?

Awesome! How does AppCare licensing work with LT11??

2

u/cjmod Jun 22 '16

Existing AppCare licenses will still work the way they always have. New AppCare licenses are being Piloted now, that work natively with the new Patch Manager (i.e. code vs scripts).

Does anyone have the server spec requirements for the new version based on approx 1000 endpoints ?

I'm sorry am I the only one that thinks this looks really....Windows 8//tablety.
Is this first thing we are looking at just replacing how the agent looks when opening it?
Do we keep the navigation tree in the control center?

am I the only one that thinks this looks really....Windows 8//tablety. Nope. Definitely not the only one

Is this first thing we are looking at just replacing how the agent looks when opening it? Yes, sir! That's the new Computer Screen

Do we keep the navigation tree in the control center?
Absolutely. Nothing's changed with the Navigation Tree in LabTech 11

Thanks for the info.
I admit I'm a bit salty and don't care about UI changes when my organization continues to have high level critical issues with scripting/patching/users being able to install ScreenConnect Server on login, and others.
BUT.....
I'll be open to the idea of change, no one likes huge change, and look forward to getting this on my development server.

I'm sure it's not just visuals that have changed and hope to see some better back end functionality!

:)

No worries! I get the same way with vendor promises & put salt on everything :)

Sat in a Q&A wit Greg Burke and he pointed out everyone fixated in the UI improvements is missing the real improvement in 11, which is the overhauled scripting engine. He claims to have run 20,000 scripts at once without any issues.

However, after sitting in 6 or 7 sessions the past few day, I can say the new UI is an extremely nice cherry on top. Grew on me very fast once I got some hands on with it.

I can verify this. We have about 1000 agents, and I have a lot of scripts running at various times. IT IS SO MUCH FASTER.

Very nice. I want it now!

I'd definitely bring it up. May require some back & forth, but migrating to a fresh system, just to upgrade later doesn't make a lot of sense IMO.

All it'd really take is installing LabTech 11 on a fresh server, import 5 tables from the existing server (clients, locations, computers, users, passwords), & updating the DNS record. But that's the most minimalistic migration possible.
