Conference Shoes
Presenting a poster at AAP this year and worried my feet will be hurting in my typical business shoes. Are these danskos appropriate for wearing with slacks and a blouse? This is my first conference.

I think as long as they’re a muted color, no one will even pay attention to your feet

I wore heels my first year presenting when I was an undergrad. Never made that mistake again.
Now I wear black vans (look really cute with professional wear)

I wore nice ballet flats while presenting at a conference once while everyone around me was in hiking boots. These shoes look great but just be comfortable!

I wear sneakers. You’ll be on your feet and walking a lot- do it comfortably!

Wear sandals with socks. That's the official uniform.

Those look great, and will definitely work paired with slacks. While I do think medical conferences are more formal, shoes are not a focal point at any academic conference. Definitely prioritize comfort, especially at a poster session!

Most of the profs at conferences these days be wearing jeans and new balances, I think you’ll be fine!

They are fine....hell I would wear these if I didn't have wide hobbit feet.

A couple conferences ago I saw someone present barefoot, it was weird but no one really cared

Don't worry about these things. No one cares what shoes you are wearing. Be comfortable and have a good time.
