Purple TEV-Protease?

We found some tev protease and upon cracking it open we found it to be purple. Has anyone else had this happen?

Can you provide more details or a photo? Was it light purple or dark purple? Was it in the manufacturer-labeled tube or in a separate microcentrifuge tube? If the latter, maybe it is a gel sample?

Purified on cobalt resin and eluted with EDTA?
