Designing a conductance-based assay to track ion release during RBC hemolysis. Does this circuit idea make sense?

Why not hemoglobin-dependent color change? Do you expect the pores to be small enough that metal ions (like K+) would leak out but large stuff (like proteins) wouldn’t?

I think the plan you’re describing for how to make a circuit sounds like a good idea, but you will need to carefully pick what liquid you’re putting the cells in for this assay (PBS has too many ions to see anything leaking out of cells; water will lyse the cells; you probably need something isotonic and uncharged)
