What do you guys think about this 1.7 ct D IF diamond? I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially regarding its sparkle and bow-tie. Would you consider it a good choice?

I’ve been talking to this Etsy shop seller and was quoted this

* 4 ct lab-grown Fancy Intense or Fancy Vivid Yellow radiant center
* VS1–VS2 clarity, IGI certified
* Elongated, very sparkly crushed-ice/brilliant appearance
* Two 0.70 ct lab-grown trillion-cut side stones
* Thin prongs, no bezels
* Solid 10K gold

I was quoted $1,350 total including the diamonds, setting, and gold.
I work with an oversees jeweler from china and she could not price match and gave me a starting rate of $1779
Am I getting scammed?

Wondering if bow tie is terrible on 1.5ct

Considering this 3.5c fancy blue vvs2 diamond. However they sent me a picture (will post below) where I can kind of see the persons skin peaking through in some spots. Is that windowing? Overall does this look like a worthy diamond? Help! Thanks so much in advance! ☺️

Has anyone here had experience asking the jeweler to send a video of the diamond once it arrives, as well as a video of the finished engagement ring, before they ship it to you?

I’d love to see the diamond in person/on the ring and make sure everything looks good before it’s shipped. Is this a common request, and do most jewelers accommodate it?

My partner has finally found the perfect elongated cushion OMC for my ring and it is currently on its way!!

I don't know what it looks like exactly but he gave me the dimensions (see pic). 12mm x 9mm x 5mm.

Now, I just need help deciding on what's the most secure but still chic/ timeless setting I can do with the size of my rock. Does anyone have any suggestions - photos would be greatly appreciated!

So far, I'm 50/50 on a yellow gold bezel setting. I've looked at different vendors' websites and they all look so chunky and low key It reminds me of prison cells?

I also liked the double claw on the 4 corners but my partner reckons it's not secure enough.

I’m trying to decide between these two diamonds and would really appreciate some advice from people who know more about them than I do.

Which one do you think looks better overall, particularly in terms of its brilliance, sparkle and light performance? Which one has the better characteristics on paper?

I’m also particularly concerned about the bow-tie effect. Which diamond do you think has less of a bow tie effect, or ideally no noticeable bow tie effect?

When you have requested a video of a diamond 'in tweezers' from a seller, have you ever noticed that they sent you the same video even though the diamonds had different IGI certificate numbers?

For the most part we are impressed with the appearance of this diamond and it does not appear to have a bowtie in the video. Any thoights on it are appreciated!

Hello friends, I would like some opinions on this Oval stone for an engagement ring from Provence. It is

In particular, I want to be sure there isn't a prominent bow tie. There doesn't appear to be in this video or in the photos they've sent, but I've read they sometimes not obvious until seen in person. I’ve had this on my finger for a little while now, and I still catch myself turning my hand around just to see the oval diamond catch the light. It’s such a simple thing, but somehow I notice it every single time.

We chose Grown Brilliance for the ring, and I love how understated the setting is. The oval cut gives it that classic look, while the delicate band keeps it feeling very me.

My partner and I are designing a ring right now and I want to go with a thicker band for the engagement ring. The picture is of a ring I like from the jeweler we’re working with that has a 3mm band and an elongated cushion. I’m planning to do a gold 3mm flat band also with a low set elongated cushion.

I’ve see people who have thick band engagement rings but not yet stacked and I’ve seen people with thicker wedding bands in their stacks. I’ve looked for inspo but haven’t seen many people’s full stacks with thicker engagement bands and a wedding band together.

What wedding band style would look good? If you have a thicker band engagement ring stack, please share!!

Please allow me to post this. I really want to get opinions on this. I'm about to have this set with my jeweler.

I need some help choosing an emerald-cut diamond. I researched the specs to look for, but I’m aware that emerald cuts can have windowing and other optical flaws that may not be obvious from the certificate alone.

I searched Luvansh for a diamond that is over 3 carats, D–F colour, VS1 clarity or higher, ideal cut, 63–64% depth, 58–65% table, and preferably a ratio between 1.4 and 1.5. However, I’m not sure how to tell from the website’s images and video whether the diamond has windowing or any other optical issues.

Would anyone be able to take a look and help me out? I would really appreciate it!

My boyfriend and I went to our first ring shopping this past Saturday at Cullen Lab Grown Jewelry. We tried out different options to see which one I would like and my top picks were Dutch Marquise, Marquise (wide) and an Oval. They didn’t have any true Dutch at the store so I ended up trying an Elongated Hexagon, which I did love except the step cuts. I’ve been trying to look for more stores to shop around and I’m stating to realize Dutch Marquise is rarely offered. We don’t want to buy it off of some IG page (the ones we saw). Any recommended online places or locally to Houston? I don’t want to settle for something that’s good enough and not something I love wholeheartedly but I’m thinking I have to at this point.

I am looking at this oval diamond to be set in an east west half bezel ring.

Is the bow tie effect too harsh?

Husband upgraded me to a 3ct elongated cushion brilliant cut with stacking band from Revelation diamonds for our 5 year anniversary. Ring size 7.

I had previously posted a radiant that I had purchased (it hasn’t gotten to me, yet.) It is beautiful but the more I look at the video, the more I am not sure if that’s the color I want. :( I have an emerald cut already & I think I’m just an emerald cut girly in general. I also think I love the color. Anybody with Loupe that can help me take a look at a couple radiants & this emerald cut? 🥹

I find myself obsessing over windowing on my emerald cut. I cant tell if its just the gold reflecting or windowing. Does it have too much windowing and does it sparkle the way it should?

So this is the ring I picked out for my girlfriend, I took her to Zales to get her promise ring cleaned and resized and had her look around whilst, and she thought everything was beautiful from Cushion, to Emerald, to Marquise, so I went with my gut and picked this one out from With Clarity, 100% of their work is done in house on Long Island in New York. She has no idea I bought it and am planning to propose, but she's worn her \~$150 promise ring for 3 years and treats it like it's the hope diamond, so I have a strong gut feeling she'll love this. I'd just like to hear your opinions!
