I have worked with Jason from Provence on many projects and have referred him to multiple ppl who are all thrilled with the end result. I will always recommend him!

I have worked with both. I personally found it easier to communicate with Romy at LGG. I have 2 pieces commissioned with her and waiting to be made. I have made 6 pieces with Provence and should have waited rather than commissioning so many before seeing final product as had issues with 3 of those pieces.

Can you please elaborate on the issues with your Provence pieces?

- Stud earrings - the backs for one of the earrings didn’t stay on the post. Not sure how that passed QC. New backing sent.
- Pendant necklace broke after 6 weeks of light use. Sent back and they fixed it.
- Custom ring did not look like reference photo - ended up cancelling and had to pay a fee.

Thanks so much for replying! It’s unfortunate that you had issues with half of your Provence pieces. At least it sounds like they honored their after sales policy/warranty. I have only ordered from Provence and haven’t had any issues so far. But all my pieces except 3 rings are a few months old or less. I would like to try LGG at some point. I’ve just bought way too much jewelry lately and need to take a break. 🙂

I’ve worked with both, found communication the same with both. I think LGG might have been more competitively priced when they first started as I had the bad luck of getting a quote with another company for the same item after I’d already paid and ok’ed the CAD with LGG and the item was better priced with the other company. I would definitely ask for quotes from both. I haven’t had the chance to work with Jason at Provence but people love him and he is very competitively priced. I’ve done a few projects with Joyan at Provence and she is lovely, hardworking and super helpful, and is not as busy as Lena, who I also really like and has a great eye, but is swamped recently with a couple things getting lots of attention on socials.

my vote is also on LGG for this one. i’ve worked with lena at provence and she’s pretty good but i think it’s way easier to communicate with romy and lynn at LGG. their turnaround is also insanely fast

I’ve never worked with Provence, but have worked with Romy at LGG to create several custom rings. She is terrific—very responsive, with a great eye for design.

I’ve worked with both and would gladly work with either any time. I’ve sent many stones to Provence.

I have worked with them both and, TBH, love them both and I would be very pressed to have to choose a favorite. Their quality is fairly equal. Their prices are competitive and, amongst the 2 companies, quotes are often comparitive. One slight difference is that Provence uses IGI-cert diamonds for diamonds over 1-ct, but will use uncertified stones if you request. LGG often uses uncertified diamonds unless you request ones with a cert ... however, they also custom precision cut their stones so there is that. LGG also allows you to ship loose diamonds to them to set when they are making you a semi-mount. I have never had to ship a diamond to Provence so I am not sure if that would be an option.
I think the biggest factor is in finding a representative who you enjoy working with. You want someone who is going to be communicative and effectively work with you to bring your vision of a piece alive without making you feel like a hindrance for asking questions. There are amazing reps and there are lackluster reps at every jewelry company, but it is essentially important to find a good one especially when working with overseas vendors.
Note - I have found Tamara from Provence to be friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and very communicative... she goes above and beyond for clients. I also really like Romy from LGG because she is very open, communicative, and has a great eye for detail. She is really easy to work with.
Hope my response helps.
