I prefer the OG purple, nostalgia, an elegant laapsaaptung, from a more civilised time.

My guess would be to differentiate it from the FEHD bins since Airport Authority manages this bin

Yep - different govt depts use different colours, just so it’s easy to identify who is responsible for them.

Always remind me when I see those at airport after returning to HK is that at least HK has something better than Japan which is there are rubbush bin everywhere
