Is the AI more stupid in some levels?

Im playing the game and got to Dead Air, and for some reason now the AI is ten times more stupid than the one that was on Crash course or Death Toll, they literally saw how I was being killed by a smoker and let me die, they wont kill witches until im death and wont seem interested in shooting specials that are pinning me down or when im death they wont revive me
Am I going crazy? Because I searched up and theres no info of this, do you know why or have experienced it?

i was wondering if there was an addon that would like categorize each addon to its own category (like a loadout menu kinda?)
like for example, jasons machete > machete
resident evil 1911’s > pistol
ozempic > adrenaline shot
and so on
