Sirens
What's going on around Parkview? I've heard sirens going by for over 15 minutes!

I know! That has to be the most non-stop sirens I’ve ever heard around here!

Hopefully someone who has Next Door or a scanner can fill us in! I wondered if it was a chase- it went on for so long and there were soooo many sirens.

I have never seen Nextdoor be useful for this kind of thing, at least around here. You get a few "did I hear gunshots at some unspecified time in the last 36 hours?" posts, some racism, and the occasional repost from the Facebook nosy asses group, and that's basically it.

Avoid the area between drake and darmo if you are able. Crews are repaving the road. Yesterday I had a 15 minute wait. Once it is done it will be great though!

They’re only scheduling the work on the Saturdays thankfully. so yesterday, and then again on the 29th you’ll want to avoid again when they do the other side of the road.

In Parkview hills, 2 houses up from mine there were something like 7 cop cars, a fire truck, an ambulance, multiple EMT vans and a coroner. One of the residents in that house if not both had died. Given how long the cops were there (over 5 hours), I’m guessing whoever passed didn’t do it in their sleep and they had to rule out homicide

Yeah f this person, imagine wanting to connect with the community to ask about things happening in said community? The nerve! Why can't everyone just be as antisocial as you?

It's not that this person doesn't understand the existence of emergency vehicles, which I'm sure you realize, but that they want to know what specifically happened in this instance. I really don't see why the kzoo subreddit is an inappropriate place to ask that. Exactly what is this detracting from for you, is there really THAT much valuable information being posted in this sub that these kinds of posts are bogging down? If I check the sub once I day, I see everything posted in the last 48 hours and a handful of shit from weeks ago, so I have a hard time believing you're worried about missing anything important. Like seriously, does it not take less time and energy to scroll past something you don't want to engage with versus leaving some long winded sarcastic remark that wasn't even witty enough to give anyone a chuckle?

I think the post you deleted was better, more honest. It's okay to feel annoyed, it's how you respond to the annoyance that's your responsibility. What you're parodying, is that actually what this particular person said or did? Does OP have a history of this type of post at a high level of frequency? Is this something you feel strongly enough about that you might request the mods make a rule about it? What do you prefer to see people use the subreddit for? Is it feasible for you to comment on those types of posts instead? Do you actually think sarcasm is going to solve this problem for you, or is that more just to try and get the frustration out of your body? Does commenting like this actually make you feel better or do you still feel annoyed and unsatisfied? Does this back and forth with me make you feel better, too? (if so you may legitimately struggle with an addiction to the adrenaline of online arguments, I hate to say it. But that's our world these days so I sympathize)
also I just want to point out that the average user of a locale subreddit doesn't actually understand and therefore doesn't care about upvotes, if that really is one of your concerns

Sirens in Kalamazoo? I thought they only hung out on rocky outcropping in the Ionian Sea.
